Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Strange Aspect.

"it's her! It's her!"

"The weirdo is taking her assessment "

" She is one hell of a freak, a really scary one"

Hussed discussion rippled out amongst the crowds slowly spreading through the hall, many guys have heated gazes directed towards the figure on the platform.

Caelia like just like the rest walked towards the pagoda and placed her palm in the groove.

The pagoda trembled slightly before rapidly turning into a black formless mist that spread slowly throughout the hall.

At the centre of the mist is a whirl like a vortex slowly rotating and expanding like it will swallow everything in its path.

"An abyss" Nyxir's eyebrow twitched.

"It sure suits her personality"

' no wonder I always felt dread when she looked at me'

' It is an abyss that looks at me, that's why my senses are alert '

There was nothing else after the black mist manifested and it quietly retracted just as it has appeared.

"A very powerful and dangerous aspect" Ivarin commented and Nyxir nodded slightly.

"What is wrong with her aspect?" Olivia asked from behind the duo after seeing the reaction of the people present in the hall.

"It's an abyssal soul that she awakened which means she's a devil. The abyssal soul is a silent world like a mini domain that is nurtured but it contains silent corruption as well and is very easy to turn people insane making them senseless killers" Ivarin recalled all he knew about devils.

" That's why they are often sidelined and killed before they reach their potential and judging by the silence it brought, it seems to be a saint grade as well I hope this is good" Nyxir quipped.

Several other people were also whispering to themselves with grimm expression all over the place.

Almost nothing is known about the devils except for their abyssal soul which is special considering they already have a domain within them that can be nurtured and they are often feared by the people due to their brutal nature while some might also be envy.

" Well how did you know this? " Olivia eyed Nyxir suspiciously." Don't tell me you have been studying secretly too"

" It is just common knowledge, if you ask people, you will know about it"

" She might have known about it or maybe it is the influence of her abyssal soul that made her such a weirdo " Ivarin said looking at Nyxir with a faint smile.

" She picked a compactible personality but let's say a devilish beauty fell in love with you " Ivarin grinned by the side changing his gaze between Nyxir and Olivia

" Not me I wouldn't want that" Nyxir's face was expressionless as he gazed at the retracting black mist, and a familiar feeling suddenly hit him.

" It is not possible" he shook his head slightly brushing the matter off his mind.

"Next!" Maric's voice jerked him awake and he walked quietly towards the platform his mind in more of a turmoil than before.

Nyxir walked towards the jade pagoda slowly and placed his palm in a groove atop the pagoda. He felt the cold surface of the pagoda on his palm and he closed his eyes, driving the divine energy that had recovered from its previous exhaustion into the jade. The warm energy left his palm and slowly entered the pagoda silently vanishing into it. After a short time, Nyxir felt the pagoda hum softly and opened his eyes to look down at the pagoda.

The jade pagoda remained the same with only tiny specks of light twinkling at the surface like particles dancing in the wind.

"What is that? Fireflies?" Someone shouted from the crowd and mummurings rippled through the entire hall.

Maric stared at that pagoda intently for a long time before sighing softly.

"No grade? What type of aspects is that?"

The discussion among the crowds grew more intense but Nyxir did not even pay it any heed, he was looking at the shimmering specks scattered on the pagoda without a change in his expression, his thoughts were unknown.

"It is a rare aspect which even I haven't seen or heard of so it might be a good thing when you discovered its ability" Maric comforted him from beside.

What he meant to say is you should try to work hard and perhaps you can be good for yourself. The aspects would have been something that piqued people's interest as it was not something that was ever seen at least to them here but as it doesn't have any effect or aura about it, they termed it as a low ranked talent, the talent that doesn't even qualify to be a mortal rank and lost interest.

There had been cases of rare aspects but with low grade talent, it could have being a formidable aspects but the limiting factor was the talent and the user tends to gumble alone as no one knows anything about the aspect before.

Nyxir walked down the platform with the same expressionless face, he had just had his hope shattered but a resolve still grows in his mind, he refused to be mediocre and had decided to work more hard and with all the recent things that have been happening to him, he knew he had a little chance of improving.

' If nothing else, then my spiritual power must be high for my perception to be sharp. Did I also gain an ability before awakening like Caelia did? Was that why my perception was so high? '

He walked towards Ivarin and Olivia who looked at him with worry on their faces.

"What?" He blurted with furrowed brows and turned to face Maric who remained on the platform looking at the crowds with slight indifference.

' I'm sure I felt something from him, but I could not place my hand on it ' Nyxir's face returned to normal but he was still thinking back to what happened on the platform.

"After your various assessments, there will be some people interested in you that will come for you and invite you into their organization, you should think wisely and try to maximize your own benefits while joining their organization. " Maric lectured before shifting his position slightly. He pocketed and withdrew a small card from his trouser pocket.

"This is an identity card, you will be given one in your various organizations and your actions henceforth will be monitored by them, any acts of villainy will be punished by them and they are responsible for your growth. "

After giving his speech, Maric walked off the platform and stood by the side.

A man in a neatly ironed black suit walked onto the platform carrying a small black suitcase, his black hair was neatly combed backward and he had a refined aura about him that make people slightly reverent unconsciously.

He placed his suitcase by his feet, looked at the crowd and gave a pleasant smile showing a prominent dimple on his right cheek adorning his fair bright face.

"My name is Jack, and I will be telling you about sequences which is closely linked to your aspect and growth"

"There are a total of eight sequences ranging from 9 to 2 which is in order of the weakest to strongest."

" But you need not to worry about the stronger sequences for now, all you need to do is try to improve your present sequence before thinking of going through the next one. "

" There are also various dangers to being a diviner, for one you will be drawn to other beings with divinity who will hunt you, and you will also constantly have to guard against your mind that is why we have organization guild to seek help from experts"

" And also, I want to congratulate you on your awakening, we are really thrilled to have more individuals who can protect our world from invasion, you may head to your various homes to rest before your first summon and you should be able to learn a bit about your aspect"

After giving his speech, he left the platform carrying his suitcase with him and Maric followed behind him. The masked man who had taken them into the celestial lake previously appeared and guided them out of the building.

Ivarin turned to Nyxir when they got outside and patted his shoulder

"I guess we will see next time"

"Yes " Nyxir replied and walked towards the distance with Olivia tagging along.

"Are you okay?" Olivia asked after they had gone a little farther from the district building.

"Of course I am, why wouldn't I be?" Nyxir stared at her and smiled.

"Is it about my aspect?____ You don't have to worry about me, I will work hard enough to not be useless" Nyxir replied nonchalantly.

The people who aren't able to be graded are mostly useless in terms of a standard diviner although they are a bit stronger than mundane human. They all tend to use their superior strength in the commercial industry rather than fighting monsters which in a way is profitable to them but not as much as it pained them.

He was only putting on a front but he was deeply annoyed, for him to have a low talent was not really a pleasant thing so how could he be happy but considering his high perception, he knew there must be a mistake about his evaluation and that might be due to the aspect he has which in itself has never been seen or heard of before.

' I will explore my aspect to the very depth '

' Hmmm? '

Nyxir felt someone looking at him and turned towards the direction of the gaze but nothing was there.

'This is the third time I've felt this, am I really mistaken or is someone really observing me? '
