It shattered, falling in pieces to the floor.

Lila's fingers tightened in her lap, her body still.
After a long pause, she leaned forward, baring her neck and the collar which suppressed her powers.
The Reaper's hand moved, shadows flowing, and with another crack, the collar fell, Lila's powers stirring—a wisp of darkness flickering at her palm before fading into the night.
The Reaper leaned closer, her breath brushing Lila's ear, her voice a soft, taunting purr.
