Chapter 14 - Chapter 14

As Aurora walked, she was almost at her destination when a thought crossed her mind—she should write down the entire plot, just in case she forgot something important.

Since she had already forgotten the names and appearances of most side characters, it was only a matter of time before she started forgetting crucial details. Better to be safe than sorry.

Just as she was lost in thought, a strange sensation crept over her—the distinct feeling of being watched.

Looking ahead, her gaze landed on the original owner's parents. They stood there, their expressions sharp and intimidating, staring directly at her.

Aurora paused, confusion settling in. Why are they looking at me like that?

Then, it hit her—she had completely forgotten to tell them in advance that she was staying over at Hyacinth's house!!

Aurora had forgotten to tell them in advance. She was so used to living alone that she forgot she now had people waiting for her at home.

"Why are you back so late?" Dad Jamie, the stricter of the two parents, asked with a frown.

The sun is still out? Of course, She wouldn't dare say that. She lowered her head, guilt creeping in.

"Do you know how worried we were? If your friend's butler hadn't informed us last night, we would've been out searching for you until dawn." Dad Jamie sighed and glanced at his husband, who was supposed to look stern like they had agreed—but had already broken character.

Dad Jamie looked at his child and felt his resolve waver. He couldn't bring himself to scold her when she looked like that. Instead, he discreetly kicked Papa Sky under the table. Their eyes met, and Papa Sky immediately understood.

"Have you eaten? Get inside and eat—the food is still warm," Sky said, his tone gentler than intended.

Wait... they were looking out for her? Aurora looked up, surprised by their worried expressions. She had expected to be punished, at the very least.

A strange warmth spread through her chest. Even though Sky looked exactly like her father from her past life, she still couldn't bring herself to act as if she had forgotten what he had done back then—even if she had already moved on.

Sometimes, Aurora couldn't help but feel disgusted by Sky, though she never showed it.

As she entered the store, she noticed the cement walls and the stark white interior. There weren't many tables or chairs, as the area didn't attract many customers. The store itself appeared quite plain and unremarkable.

Unlike modern times, where there is a wide variety of desserts displayed and menus floating above the cashier, this store looked like it belonged to twenty years ago.

She lazily sat at the corner table where she often sat to eat while working.

She couldn't help but comment on how the store lacked any real charm or appeal.

She looked down and noticed a cookie already placed on her table, which she happily began to eat. Not long after, her food arrived.

On a plate, there were six spring rolls filled with meat, carrots, and seasoning. Beside them was a serving of plain rice, a staple food that many Asians enjoy with their meals.

The original owner's alpha father, known for his excellent cooking skills, was practically a chef.

She couldn't help but drool at the sight. She quickly washed her hands before eagerly reaching for the meat filled spring rolls.

As she took her first bite, the crispy wrapper, enriched with egg, melted on her tongue. The savory meat and well seasoned filling spread across her taste buds, making her savor every flavor.

At that moment, She no longer cared about dining etiquette—she was completely lost in the deliciousness of the meal.

The two forgotten fathers in the back exchanged smiles as they watched their daughter.

She let out a loud burp but quickly covered her mouth, realizing she was the only customer left. Even though the original owner's fathers were still there, she didn't seem to mind.

She gathered her plates and took them to the sink to wash, despite Jamie, the original owner's omega father, insisting that he should do it instead. Aurora simply shook her head, determined to wash her dishes.

Seeing this, Jamie felt a wave of emotion. His daughter had finally matured. He couldn't help but think about how quickly children grow up—in the blink of an eye, they are suddenly adults, ready to take on the world, and before he knew it, they would be married.

No it's way too early to think about marriage!

Meanwhile, Aurora had no idea what Jamie was thinking. Even if she had heard his thoughts, she would have simply dismissed the idea.

Instead, she was lost in her own thoughts, wondering how she could attract more customers to their restaurant.

If she were to recommend an ingredient, it would be difficult to explain since, in her memories, the original owner had never shown any interest in baking. That idea was out of the question.

Should she change the menu instead? She had noticed earlier that there were no pictures on it at all. That made it difficult for non locals to decide which dessert or dish to order.

She had asked earlier why the store looked so plain. Jamie was initially shocked that his daughter suddenly took an interest in their bakery, but deep down, he was happy.

However, he didn't show it. Instead, he patiently explained that when he took over from the original owner, their financial situation was tight.

After Aurora was born, they had to spend a lot on expensive diapers and cow's milk because she was allergic to cheaper products and could only tolerate a specific high end brand. As a result, the savings that Sky and Jamie had intended to invest in improving the bakery were instead spent on her needs.

Now, they have managed to save some money again, but it's still not enough to renovate the store to their preferred design. On top of that, they only get a few customers since their bakery isn't well known.
