Ace was back at the office the next day—looking perfectly fine, dressed sharp as ever, voice firm as he scolded a junior staff member in his office.
Zara narrowed her eyes as she heard his voice while entering Gina's office, muttering under her breath, "I knew he wasn't sick."
There was nothing weak about his voice or gait. No sign of the man who had stayed away from the office the previous day because of sickness.
"I need you to go over the preliminary designs for the VIP buildings," she said flatly, placing the folder on the desk before sitting down.
Gina raised her head slowly. "I didn't say you could sit."
"You didn't have to," Zara replied, unbothered.
A faint smirk played on Gina's lips as she leaned back, flipping through the file. "Hmm," she muttered, skimming the sketches. "Nice work. Clean designs, balanced layout."
