Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 Space

Alpha was first as always. He would teach the young god all there was to space. The two moved to the center of it all, the point where the first three gods popped out of the void.

The point was now occupied by a large black hole, large than that of most. It's movement only visible by the various gases and stars that were falling into the hole in space.

Alpha adored these structures as they were the place where all three of the gods dominons came to create a perfect object. One that was different than that of all space, one that bent time and one where the laws were pushed to the very point of breaking. He thought what better way to demonstrate space then that of such a structure.

Alpha decided to test Eta, see whether it had a good grasp on everything to do with space. Its test would be pulling a star from its death spiral into the black hole.

The young god pulled out its glass brush and pointed it towards the star and the black hole. A small line appeared going to both objects. As it connected, the black hole seemed to stop for just a moment as the star slowly started to leave the field of the black hole.

"A very interesting technique. Do pray tell, how did you achieve this feat." Alpha moved closer to Eta.

Eta turned to him, "My way of moving space is by talking to the souls within the objects. I asked the black hole to release the star from its pull and the star to move closer to me." It continued to have the star move closer.

Alpha could see the differences in the star as Eta talked to the star. It pulsed irregularly giving off strange colors of blues, purples, and deep reds. Despite creating space itself, Alpha had never saw something quite like this.

"So you can talk with the souls of objects?"

Eta turned to him, "Yes, I can't help but hear them all around me normally. My brush allows me to filter them so as to not be constantly assailed by souls."

Alpha would continue to test Eta through various applications of space that he thought could only be done with his orb. Yet Eta could find a workaround by using it's dominion over souls in most cases. In those cases that couldn't use souls, Alpha taught it to manipulate the space using his own dominion.

One day, while the two observed the path of galaxies that would collide, Alpha asked, "You are an extremely different being than myself or my siblings. Your curiosity rivals ours, your mind matching ours that have existed for so long. Tell me, do you know why?"

Eta looked towards Alpha, then to the to it's nearby home galaxy. It watched the spiral very slowly move around its black hole center.

"I'm not sure if I know or will ever know. It may just be that curiosity is the most basic feeling of those that can think." Eta smiled, "But I know this, I want to know about you and Gamma and Omega. I want to be like you and be like me. I want to make you all proud through my own dominion."

It turned to Alpha, it's insect eyes gleaming with the reflection of the nearby galaxy. "Am I the being you think I should be?"

"No, and that is okay. With your advent, even before to be fair, nothing is or will ever be perfect. It has taken me some time to realize this, but my universe is based on chaos and imperfections. Your creation just finally allowed us all to see it." His form glowed brightly with a beautiful bouquet of galaxies.

Alpha's training only took a brief two millennia before the two returned to the pillar. Eta headed to paint a new piece of the cosmos leaving Alpha to find the other two sat in the home. Gamma and Omega had been milling about for the years, Gamma looking at the now infinite branching timelines and Omega checking how the laws had been affected if at all by souls.

"Space has been tamed, the ordered chaos of imagination has taken root. My imperfect cosmos is now truly the perfect imperfection." Alpha placed his tool on the table next to the other two gods, the orb now full of colorful galaxies.

"Is Eta everything we thought it'd be?" Gamma stood up, moss breaking from her form as she had not moved since Alpha had left with Eta.

"I cannot say, Eta is much more than what I had thought. Curiosity, intelligence, imagination, Eta has it in spades. It exceeded my own thoughts of what a new god could do. Watching Eta felt as if I peeled back time and watched ourselves back during creation. Beings so fascinated with everything, yet Eta actual has the emotions to delve further into the why. It has the mind to see what would come next without testing." Alpha's internal stars shone bright with different colors.

Gamma brushed off her accumulation of plant life. "Then it seems that I must see for myself if it is my thought."

With that, Gamma stood up and went to Eta's side.
