"I'm not ready to get back yet."
We have just gotten back to the campgrounds, following the way back to the dorms, when I stop.
"I want to watch the stars for a little while before I get back in there."
Miko hasn't said a single world ever since we got in the cab and I know why he is like this. if we go back in there, the magic of tonight will all be erased and tomorrow we will have to act like this is nothing.
I am not letting that happen.
Which is why I extend my hand towards him. "Will you stay with me?"
"Okay," he quietly takes my hand, and we go sit by one of the many benches around the compound. He sits down while I lie on my back, head near his thighs as I look up at the sky.
"I always used to watch the stars around this time of night when I was home," I whisper, tracing the familiar constellations with my eyes. The sky is clear tonight too, and I know it must be around 3 am.
"How was it?" Miko asks after a while.
