Inside the wild Pokémon sanctuary, there weren't just Ash and Officer Jenny's group—there were also two other guests.
"Gabby, are you sure there's really big news here in Kanto?"
"Shh! Don't be so loud, Ty. Don't you know you might wake the wild Pokémon? As for your so-called big news—haven't you heard about what's been happening in Sinnoh recently?"
Upon hearing Gabby's question, Ty thought for a moment before saying, "Could it be... about the Team Galactic leader who was captured in Kanto but later escaped in Sinnoh?"
"Exactly. I heard the person who helped Officer Jenny capture Team Galactic was named Sebastian. But when I asked my hacker friend to look into it—we discovered Sebastian's records are only kept by the Continental Hotel, and they're classified at the highest security level. My friend couldn't hack into them at all."
"So you want to track down this mysterious Sebastian?!"
"No, I heard the big boss of the Continental Hotel has started traveling, so I was wondering if that Sebastian might actually be the big boss of the Continental Hotel?"
"Good grief! Just for this we came all the way from Hoenn to Kanto? And now why are we tailing these people ahead of us? What does this have to do with our original purpose?"
Watching the suspicious person who seemed to be fiddling with some equipment, Gabby took out a Poké Ball and said, "This guy clearly looks like a poacher. Let's ambush him and hand him over to Officer Jenny."
"I was wondering why you two have been following my companion. Would you mind coming with us for a moment?"
The sudden voice made Gabby and Ty freeze in surprise, only to realize they were now surrounded by a group of people. The leader looked at them and said in a low voice, "We appreciate your chivalrous intervention, but you've mistaken the situation. Now please come with us - our boss wants to meet you."
Faced with the circle of people surrounding them, Gabby and Ty had no choice but to obediently go along with the group.

Seeing it was actually the same person who'd been bothered by Brock that morning, Ash couldn't help but feel speechless. Just then, Meowth came over holding a tablet and said to Ash, "Boss, those two are reporters, and they're from the Hoenn TV station."
"A talking Meowth!*2"
Seeing that Meowth could actually speak, Gabby and Ty were both startled, while Team Rocket's Meowth said impatiently, "Come on. It's totally normal for Pokémon to talk, kid. It's not like there's only one talking one in the house."

Looking at Gabby and Ty, Ash shook his head and then snapped his fingers... And with that snap, a muscular man and a muscular woman each grabbed them.
"Wait! What are you doing?"
"Sorry, special circumstances call for special measures. Search them."
"Yes!" *2
"Stop touching... pfft."
Before the two could even scream, their mouths were sealed with tape, followed by a thorough body search conducted by Ash's security team.

After searching Gabby and Ty and confirming there were no issues, Ash and Officer Jenny explained the situation to the two of them.
"Sorry about this, you two. These are special circumstances, so we have to take special measures."
Though being searched was unpleasant, Gabby nodded in understanding after learning they were trying to catch Pokémon poachers. "Alright, I get it. But is it really okay to tell us this? We are reporters, after all."
Hearing Gabby's words, Ash smiled and said, "Of course, no problem. In fact, it would be better if you recorded it—just to let those guys from other regions know this isn't a place they can mess around with as they please. By the way, would you like some cake?"
Looking at the snow-white cake Ash pushed toward her, Gabby really wanted to eat it but was afraid of gaining weight.
Ty, however, had no such reservations and said directly, "Thanks! I'm actually a bit hungry."
Watching Ty devour the cake, Gabby couldn't help but feel envious. Noticing her longing gaze, Ash chuckled and pushed the cake toward her, saying, "Go ahead. This is our Continental Hotel's special low-calorie cake. It won't make you gain weight."
"Oh, thank goodness, it's the Continental Hotel..."
Gabby looked at Ash, who was still smiling, not knowing what to say.
