NARRATOR'S POV
As soon as Liam was dragged out of the room, Lilith turned sharply toward Alexis.
"Is everything going as planned?" she asked, her voice calm but firm.
"Yes, Grandmother. Everything is going exactly as we planned," Alexis responded. "But I still don't understand why you insist we keep playing this kind of game with him."
"Because we must never underestimate him," Lilith said, her tone low and deliberate. "Not even for a second. The best way to keep him under control is to make him believe he has the upper hand—to let him think he's in power." She picked up a bottle of wine, pouring it into a glass and taking a long sip. "And I bet he enjoyed every bit of it."
"Of course he did, Grandmother," Alexis replied, a sly smile tugging at her lips. "You should've seen the look in his eyes, especially when he thought he was leading the battle. He looked... unstoppable."
Lilith passed her a glass, and the two clinked their drinks together with a soft clink, sipping slowly.
