"You can't go inside." Weyd, the burly bodyguard stopped me.
"Let him in."
Weyd and the other bodyguards stepped out of my way, allowing me entry inside Baston's casino office.
"Why haven't you gone low contact like we agreed?"
Baston chuckled, letting out a big puff of smoke. "Watch your mouth, kid. You're standing on my territory."
"Oh, please!" I glared at him, wanting him to take my warning seriously. "The fact that youre roaming around the streets without a care in the world that you might be apprehended by the police makes me think that you want to spend the rest of your life rotting away in jail."
Baston's walking cane made a loud clinking sound as he got up from his chair, standing before me so as to intimidate me.
"At the end of the day, kid, if I go down, I'm bringing you and your girlfriend down with me." He pat my shoulder. "Make sure you don't forget that we're in the same boat."
I made an attempt to say something but Baston had had enough of me. He ordered his burly bodyguards to escort me out of his casino premises.

I rushed to the police station after getting that disturbing call.
The detectives directed me to the temporary housing cell where Kate was being held.
"Babe!" She exclaimed, clutching the bagra bars.
"How did this happen?"
"They've found strong incriminating evidence against me. I don't think I'll be bailed out."
"Then, let's have a settlement agreement with them."
"No."
"It's the only way out."
"They won't make things easy for me."
"I know. But we can still plead with them. Im sure Xavier won't be that heartless as to allow you to go to jail."
Kate chuckled dryly. "I wouldn't be surprised if he doesnt bat an eye in regards to me going to jail. Besides, he'd be stupid if he allowed me to go scott-free when I was the mastermind behind Riley's hit and run."
Kate actually used Janet's connections with the shady loansharks to hire a hit and run driver to crash into Riley's uber that fateful day when the accident successfully happened according to plan.
That's why Janet was threatening to reveal Kate's mastermind involvement in Riley's hit and run accident to the police station if Kate still refused to give her that 2million.
