Kingsley stood near the hospital bed, arms crossed, his eyes were full of concern. Jasmine sat up slowly, holding the baby in her arms. Her face was pale while he looked at her with gentle eyes.
"Come stay with me," Kingsley said. "I'll keep you safe. I've already clean your room and arranged it just the way you liked it. You won't have to lift a finger."
Jasmine shook her head. "No, Kingsley. I want to go to my parents' house. My mom is already waiting, she knows how to take care of newborns. And I'll be more comfortable there."
Kingsley looked disappointed. "It's not about comfort, It's about safety. Things are dangerous now… You saw what happened. I can protect you better in my place."
Jasmine didn't meet his eyes. "I know you can protect me but I just gave birth, I need my mother. I need to be around her."
