In my royal chamber I finished adjusting my military uniform, the epaulettes perfectly aligned.
A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts.
"Jonady, are you ready?" asked Raelia.
I ran a hand through my hair to tidy it.
"Yes, I'm coming."
As I stepped out I found Raelia accompanied by Nilyna.
They flanked me like loyal shadows.
We walked through the palace corridors to a grand door guarded by two soldiers.
As we approached, they stood at attention and opened the way.
The High Security Council chamber once the old war council room had been renovated and expanded under my direction.
It was vast, illuminated by majestic chandeliers, with Ednia's flag hanging from the ceiling.
At the center, a large round table was covered in maps and documents.
Around it sat the main leaders responsible for national security.
I took my seat and declared:
"You may sit."
They all obeyed.
"Let's begin the meeting."
"Yes, Your Majesty," they replied in unison.
I turned to Katran, head of the Shadow Ravens, our elite intelligence unit.
"Katran, have you observed any suspicious foreign activities aimed at destabilizing Ednia?"
Dressed in his black outfit and raven-shaped mask, he answered:
"No, Your Majesty. So far, we've identified some foreign networks, but they remain under constant surveillance ."
I nodded, pleased with his vigilance.
Next I turned to Robert, captain of our naval fleet.
"Any maritime intrusions to report?"
"Your Majesty, a few ships from the Katakiel Empire crossed our territorial waters our patrols repelled them. Likely provocations, but we remain alert."
Gilbert, head of internal security, raised his hand.
"Your Majesty, I've heard you plan to allow public visits to Regalia Castle. Could that not be a security risk?"
Before I could answer, Kaylen interjected:
"It's a matter of transparency. Opening the castle to the people shows that nobility serves the citizens, not the other way around."
Nilyna added:
"As head of the maidsbpalace , I will ensure the staff is trained to detect and neutralize any potential threat."
Gilbert nodded.
"I understand. Thank you for the clarification."
I continued:
"I also wish to inform you of the implementation of mandatory military service for two years, starting at age 17. This will strengthen patriotism and prepare our youth to defend the nation in times of conflict."
I turned my gaze to Sienna, head of infrastructure.
"What's the status of the railway construction?"
"As planned, Your Majesty. The six provinces of Ednia ".
" The province of Fiorensha, Shuyingrad, Lucenzhou, Kyosvale, Tianangbourg, and Velzhangshire are 80% connected. Amiria the capital, of Ednia is located in western Fiorensha and fully integrated."
As the meeting neared its end, Marcus spoke:
"Your Majesty, allow me to congratulate you on your engagement.I hadn't had the chance before."
I thanked him warmly.
— "Before we close, I want to thank each of you for your dedication. The decisions made today are vital for our kingdom's safety. As your monarch, I vow to protect Ednia. I ask each of you to continue working closely together, each in your field, to preserve the peace and security of our people."
All replied in unison:
"Yes, Your Majesty."
