Qingran awoke from her dreams once again.
The room was still shrouded in darkness, and it was not yet dawn outside; it seemed she hadn't been asleep for long.
Despite not being the one climbing the stairs in her dream, she felt drained and extremely tired, yet somewhat parched and thirsty.
Drinking water was, of course, more essential than continuing to sleep.
Qingran sat up, reached for the switch, turned on the bedside lamp, and sluggishly slipped her feet into her slippers to get up and get a drink.
When she reached the desk to pour herself some water, she found the kettle empty. She sighed silently, picked up her cup, and prepared to get water from the living room.
As she walked, she pondered over the increasingly strange nature of her recent dreams, even including chanting and prayer sounds.
