Inwardly, Kent was laughing at the King.
'I guess all those acting classes Mama made me take weren't wasted.' He smiled and then focused his attention on the King.
"Are you sure you want to know why I am being hunted by the Hand?" Kent asked, and the King nodded.
"Very well. But this may come as a shock to you because I don't even know why they want me dead, though I have some theories.
First, through one of their informants, I managed to send them a catchy notice that I am aware of their existence. That pissed them off, so they came after me... bringing me to the second theory.
I killed thousands of their men, rendering their plans to send a message to everyone that they are not to be messed with, obsequious. That was a massive blow to them.
Then they sent the one called 'the Hunter,' who, as it turns out, wasn't so bad. One led to another, and we are now buddies."
"Wait, did you just say the Hunter came after you?" Lord Faelen cut Kent off before he could end his theories.
