The Black Sail wasn't in dire straits, but in the last ship hijacking, their nearly twenty-meter-long lightweight fast ship was blasted into a semi-wrecked state by the merchant ship's cannons, with its dragon bone fractured, rendering it unable to set sail, and stranded on the wilderness shore.
They urgently needed a new round of startup funds to purchase a heavily-armed vessel, preferably equipped with thirty-six cannons, capable of blasting with the navy — the Vengeful Goddess.
However, Liszt had his eyes on a Twin-Masted Sailing Ship produced by a local shipyard in Heaven Port. It was love at first sight. The elderly shipwright in his seventies asked for 699 Golden Dragons, claiming it to be his most proud masterpiece in his lifetime, and the person who sails it would dominate the Four Seas.
The shipwright had protection from the East Sea Brother One, so Liszt didn't dare kill the shipyard people to avoid crossing that man.
