Nick didn't bother asking any questions after that. He already knew what he had to know, simply because Paulie's answer let more on than the chubby dude would've thought.
'Nothing, really, huh? In other words, that's how it'll look on paper. Witness dies a day before their court date, either by suicide, an accident, or maybe even goes missing,' he thought.
'If I play my cards right with these men, I might be able to find out what exactly Boss has planned out for me.'
Nick studied Kev and Paulie, but ruled them out and set his eyes on Cole. The former two might be privy to more of Boss Falco's plans, but they were surely not going to let their tongue or actions slip. However, they might end up telling Cole, or the young goon might have overheard something. Either way, he was the best choice.
"You're quite new too, aren't you?" Nick asked Cole, who seemed a bit stunned that Nick was trying to speak to him.
"Dude, we're not friends. That's not your business," he said.
