"Ready?" Standing at the entrance of TIM Bar, Jin Meng turned to Xia Lu.
Xia Lu looked at her, baffled, "You're the main event today; I'm just here with you. As long as you're ready, that's all that matters."
"True." Jin Meng took a deep breath, steadied herself, and stared ahead intensely, suddenly furrowing her brows, "What do you think? Do I look fierce enough now?"
Xia Lu scrutinized her face, hesitant. "It's okay..." she said.
Seeing her expression, Jin Meng realized the problem—she wasn't fierce enough to intimidate anyone. She immediately rummaged through her bag, pulled out a bright red lipstick, and carefully applied it on her lips against the reflection of a glass wall, pursing them afterwards.
"How about now?" She turned around, her lips a striking red that was hard to look away from.
"Good… somewhat…" Xia Lu said softly. "It's not exactly fierce, but it certainly has more presence than before..."
