Chapter 277 - Chapter 277 Prince of hell intervention

Back in Scotland, the air in the living room was dense. Hadrain was pacing around, deep in thought.

He hadn't forgotten his father's threats—those cold words that came out of his mouth, regardless of the fact that Lamia was his son-in-law. He was fuming with rage.

Why didn't Lamia ever listen? If he hadn't hesitated in going to Paradise High—another cursed school—none of this would have happened.

Wait… Slyvia. He went there specifically for Slyvia.

"Father, where is second Daddy?" Julian asked innocently.

Hadrain smiled, then slowly stroked Julian's hair and whispered,

"Your father went shopping, and he's coming back with delicacies you can't even imagine."

Hadrain spoke gently, trying perhaps to keep the little one from worrying too much about Lamia.

"Really? Yay! Jasmine heard that Daddy went shopping!" Julian jumped with excitement and, like a flash, ran to his room, dragging Jasmine with him.

Catherine, who had been silently fidgeting, finally let out her pain.

"What are we gonna do, Hadrain? We might have dealt with Abigail, but Lamia… he's gone. And not only that, what Jasmine performed here was more than anything I've ever seen."

"No one has unleashed such mayhem, especially not a little girl of four," Cathy said, her worried face evident.

Hadrain facepalmed. He couldn't lose his family—and he definitely wouldn't allow other demons or supernatural creatures to come after them. Over his dead body.

"It's okay, Cathy. I made a vow that I wouldn't let any harm come to our family—and I meant it. So, I'm moving to Paradise High. Whatever happened to Lamia, I'll undo it and bring him back," Hadrain assured Cathy as he hugged her passionately.

"What about our children? I'll get someone I trust to check them, to see what kind of supernatural beings they are. From there, we might know the kind of precautions to take," Hadrain declared, his face darkening with each passing minute.

Those who messed with his family were getting wiped out. And shy students in that school who touched Lamia—friend or foe—they would die.

Maxandra had been watching silently. Seeing what was unfolding between the two, she shook her head in sorrow. All she had ever wanted was for them to have a happy ending—but it seemed fate was cruelly against them.

"Don't give up yet. Catherine, you have your family to protect—and so does Hadrain. So you both should do what you have to do. Bring Lamia home. Please… I want him home," Maxandra begged.

Catherine's eyes turned watery, tears falling bit by bit.

"Mom, you and Charles should take care of the children. Hadrain and I will go to Valemont City and bring Lamia back," Cathy declared, leaving them all shaken.

Charles, who had been seated with a gloomy face, stood up instantly.

"No! That's not advisable. You're still a turned demon and might be killed instantly. It's not safe for you," Charles spoke the truth.

Hadrain stiffened, then slowly approached Cathy.

"You're staying and taking care of the children. They are the top priority right now—because everything we're doing, we're doing it for them, for them to have a better life, free from danger and harm. So please, stay," Hadrain pleaded.

"I understand," she began, "but I made a vow at the altar—that I'd stand by my husbands in their time of need. And that means now. The kids will be protected. And by fortifying the house even harder, no creature can cross the barrier again… not even your father, remember?" Catherine's voice echoed with conviction.

Hadrain couldn't argue anymore. He just let out a small smile.

What a bride. What a wife.

"I created powerful and deadly creatures that will constantly defend our home from external attacks. So our kids are safe. And Mother-in-law, please… this is on you. We're going to bring back Lamia. And Catherine is staying with me—for safety," Hadrain declared.

Charles stared at the two, then walked up to them, whispering a prayer.

"You both will come back—and with Lamia. I pray for a happy ending. And this time, a permanent one. Please, don't die," Charles pleaded.

Maxandra joined in, blessing them both.

Hadrain held the two and kissed their hands.

"After this… every supernatural realm will never hear from us again," he said quietly.

Then, Hadrain looked at his house, his hands clasped tightly with Cathy's.

The battle would hear from them.
