Chapter 36 - Chapter 32: Meeting Request

(Hey everyone, it's been a while. I'm sorry for taking so long to update. But the reason why is because a while ago my dog had surgery and I was taking a break to help make sure he didn't hurt himself. He's fine in cade you're curious.

But then when I was ready to start writing again my dad needed help removing a kitchen from an old studio so we could eventually use the pieces to replace the kitchen we have here at home. Which involved spending a few days picking things up and putting them back down.

I can't promise anything, but I promise to try to be as active as I was before and not make you guys wait a month per chapter.)

---

The wind howled softly around them, carrying the weight of the storm. Rain pattered against their shoulders, but none of them moved. Not yet.

Peter, Susan, and Sable hovered just above the ground, held aloft by the spider-sigil magic humming beneath their feet. The crimson glow from Peter's altered emblem cast a faint light across Thor's face, mixing strangely with the electric blue from Mjolnir.

None of them spoke at first.

Thor's words still hung heavy in the air, simple, but massive.

"I need your help."

Peter's expression was unreadable. He turned his head slowly to glance at Susan, then Sable. Both looked just as surprised, but neither spoke either. It was the kind of silence that said what the hell is going on?, but no one wanted to be the first to blink.

Eventually, Peter sighed. "Okay," he said, dragging the word out like it was something sharp stuck in his throat. "Gotta ask, why me, Thor?"

The God of Thunder took a slow breath, his features taut with something deeper than urgency. "Because it was you who awakened it."

Peter's brow twitched. "Awakened what?"

Thor stepped closer, the storm flashing behind him like nature echoing his heartbeat. "The power you used in Wakanda. And the one you've been learning to control here, under Doom's guidance. That magic, your magic, it didn't go unnoticed."

"Of course it didn't," Peter muttered, crossing his arms. "I nearly turned Wakanda into a crater."

"I'm not talking about Midgard," Thor said firmly. "I'm talking about my father. Odin."

Peter's expression shifted at that, barely, but enough. Behind him, Sable's eyes narrowed and Susan stiffened slightly.

Thor continued. "He felt it. The moment you unleashed it. Something ancient. Something not just magical, but... familiar. And when it resurfaced again in Latveria, he knew."

Peter tilted his head. "Knew what, exactly?"

"That it was real. And that you weren't just borrowing power anymore." Thor's voice lowered. "You've tapped into something old, something tied to the very roots of our realms. Odin recognized it. And now he demands to see it for himself... and meet the one who wields it."

Peter blinked slowly. "So the All-Father wants to meet me."

"Wants you brought to Asgard," Thor corrected. "Personally."

Peter let out a slow breath. "Great. And I was hoping today would just end in cake."

Thunder rumbled again, like laughter from a distant god who didn't quite understand the joke.

Peter exhaled sharply through his nose, rubbing the bridge of it for a moment before muttering, "...Alright."

Thor arched a golden brow.

"I'll go," Peter said. "But only if they come with me." He nodded toward Susan and Sable, both of whom stood at his sides like silent sentinels. "You ask me to walk into a god's house, you better believe I'm bringing the people I trust most."

Thor gave a nod, solemn but approving. "Very well. Asgard welcomes them."

Without another word, Peter's hands lit up with a swirling crimson weave of symbiote and spellwork. Runes formed midair, his altered Spider-emblem glowing on his chest as his cloak flared wide. In an instant, he shot off toward the castle in a streak of red and black, with Susan and Sable soaring beside him, floating with elegant, synchronized precision as if it were second nature now.

---

The castle loomed ahead, its towers piercing the cloud-heavy skies of Latveria.

Inside the nursery, Franklin and Valeria turned as the doors burst open.

"Dad?" Valeria blinked, half-lounging on a pile of old books. Franklin was mid-game with one of Doom's mechanical wolf-puppies when he turned, wide-eyed.

Peter landed softly on the carpet, the magic dying off his boots as he walked in with his hands open. "Hey," he said gently.

Susan and Sable waited by the door as he knelt in front of his children. "Thor showed up," he explained, voice low and steady. "He needs me to go to Asgard."

Franklin's face dropped. "Asgard?

"Exactly that." Peter smiled tightly. "But this isn't a vacation. Odin asked for me personally."

Valeria folded her arms. "Then we're coming too."

"No," Peter said firmly, but not without love. "You're staying here. With your Uncle Doom."

Both kids looked ready to argue, until Doom's voice boomed telepathically through the room:

"You will remain in Latveria. Protected. Educated. Watched."

Peter turned toward the corner, where a flicker of green light formed and the figure of Victor von Doom emerged, not quite corporeal, not quite absent. He stood, arms crossed, looking down his metal nose at Peter.

"Take care of them," Peter said simply.

Doom inclined his head slowly. Then, as if speaking only to Peter, his voice echoed in his mind:

"Do not forget our agreement. Mephisto still awaits."

Peter gave a single nod.

The goodbyes were fast but emotional.

Franklin threw his arms around his father's neck. "Kick some Asgardian ass, okay?"

Valeria didn't say much, she just hugged Peter so tightly it nearly cracked a rib. She whispered, "I'll keep Franklin out of the trouble. Probably."

He ruffled her hair and kissed the tops of both their heads. "I'll be back soon. You're both the best parts of me."

---

Moments later, Peter rejoined Thor outside with Susan and Sable at his side. All three now wore traveling cloaks, and the wind caught Susan's blonde hair just enough to frame her fierce expression. Sable stood firm, her gaze scanning the sky like she expected it to challenge her.

"You ready?" Thor asked, stepping forward.

Peter looked to Susan. She nodded. Sable gave a quiet but certain "Yes."

Peter turned back to Thor. "Let's do it."

Thor nodded once. "Then hold fast."

They each stepped closer, placing hands on Thor's shoulders and arms. His aura crackled with static and divine pressure, a god cloaked in storm.

Thor looked skyward, raising Mjolnir.

"Heimdall..." he called.

"...when you're ready."

The sky cracked open with a roar of sound and color.

A titanic beam of rainbow light descended from the heavens, swirling with divine energy as it enveloped the four figures. The ground quaked beneath the power of the Bifrost, illuminating the dark clouds like lightning trapped in glass.

And in a flash, they were gone.
