Chapter 37 - The Others

"Listen! You can't just drop a bomb like that and expect me to stay calm!" Vexalia yelled, panicking at who was in front of her, "I created you, you should have expected to meet me at some point." Hylia pointed out, slightly annoyed by the reaction.

Vexalia took a few deep breaths to calm down, "You good?" The Goddess asked, "Yeah... Mostly..." The heroine confirmed, prompting Hylia to pat her on the back.

Getting past the shock of the situation, Vexalia decided to ask "Why are you here?", "Why? To help you against that thing of course." Hylia replied, pointing at the dead Leviathan.

"Okay that makes sense..." Vexalia granted, but then asked another question "Why stick around?", and this actually made Hylia quiet down for a moment, "...Can we talk about it in the sky?" She requested.

Since she wanted an answer, Vexalia decided to accept that, so she went to a loftwing statue that sent her up, followed by Hylia who just flew after her, and to have a more stable ground, they went to Music Island.

"We're here." Vexalia said, "So what was that-" She was asking, but got interrupted, "You have sisters." Hylia informed, making Vexalia shut up, "After the Harbringer of Demise was sealed away, me and a few acquaintaces went on to create what we called the eight monstrosities." The Goddess explained.

The monstrosities part made Vexalia frown a bit, "Not that you're monstrosities cause you're monsters, I mean you are, but that's not what I mean." Hylia clarfied, "You were called that because of you monstrous abilities." She explained, calming Vexalia down.

"You said sisters..." Vexalia brought up the earlier point, "Right." Hylia said, getting back on track, "You weren't the only one we were working on, but you also were the most developed one since we had a base in Vexus." She explained, but then looked quite sad.

The expression wasn't lost by Vexalia, who became concerned for her basically mother, "I don't know if the others will ever wake up..." The Goddess stated in sorrow, "What do you mean?" Vexalia questioned, "Other than you, the only one who showed promise of waking up was 'the dragon', but... If she was to wake up, it would have been a few days after you..." Hylia explained.

That information made Vexalia sad, growing up with Zelda, she did have some kind of sense of family, so knowing that her sisters might be dead really hurt, "I wonder if this is what mothers feel like when their children don't make it..." Hylia pondered.

"Good question..." Vexalia said in response, turning to look at the entrance of Music Island's temple, "You know, there's something we could do about it." Hylia brought up, catching Vexalia's interest.

Hylia proceeded to explain the process to Vexalia, who in response, took out her sword, pointed it at the Goddess and then slammed her wrist on the edge, cutting her hand off, which Hylia caught mid-air, and with a nod, she left, "I hope it works." Vexalia said, going into the temple.

Meanwhile, Hylia went back to her workshop in Lanayru and opened a door that Vexalia hadn't noticed.

Inside the room were seven pods much like the one Vexalia was in when first found on Skyloft, but Hylia opened each, and injected a fluid she got from Vexalia's hand into each body, "I hope this works..." She said, closing the pods and going away to deal with other things.

Now alone, the pods went back to monitoring the ones inside, and the one labeled Dragon, began displaying a display that there was development in progess.

In the meantime, Vexalia learnd the song to open the Trial of Power, and then found the gate.
