Chapter 415 - Chapter 415: The Selection of the Underworld’s World Tree Lord of the Earth—Who Is the Most Suitable? (Bonus Chapter 3)

Hades' vision was never limited to the present.

Or rather, every step he took was never solely focused on the immediate moment.

He meticulously planned for the future, carefully considering every move ahead.

Hades always thought far ahead about what the next steps should be and how to achieve his goals.

Even in life-or-death situations, he made these long-term decisions. This was his nature—to always think further ahead.

It's hard to judge whether this approach was always good or bad.

However, one thing was certain: at this stage, it was undoubtedly the best method for Hades. By advancing this way, he steadily improved everything, gradually growing to his current level.

In the future, everything was already laid out before him. All that was needed was to keep progressing steadily.

"Your Majesty!"

"My Queen!"

"Lady Hestia!"

At that moment, Hypnos and Thanatos entered the domain.

The twin gods knelt respectfully, their eyes filled with deep reverence.

Hades remained calm, raising his hand slightly, signaling the twins to rise.

He gazed at the twin gods before speaking, "Hypnos, Thanatos, the position of the Lord of the Earth is suited for either of you."

"Make your choice."

Hades' calm tone shocked the twin gods, who were clearly stunned and could hardly believe what they were hearing.

But Hades remained serene, as if this was a natural course of action.

The Underworld's World Tree needed a Lord of the Earth.

And if there were suitable candidates among the gods of the underworld, only a select few would qualify.

The 72 Demon Gods were not among them.

Led by Baal, the supreme four pillars and the 72 Demon Gods were already deeply bound to the underworld. They were the pillars supporting the realm.

They required no titles; as the underworld grew, so would they naturally.

In other words, when Hades ascended to the next level, the supreme four pillars would directly evolve into God-Kings.

This was why Hades rarely involved the 72 Demon Gods in these decisions. They didn't need to be part of this equation—they transcended it.

This was a unique aspect of the underworld.

In the future, the Sky, the Earth Serpent, and the Four Great Beasts would take their positions, and when they did, they would also bear the title of God-King.

Under these circumstances, the result was clear.

Right now, the most suitable candidates for the Lord of the Earth were Hypnos and Thanatos.

In a complete mythological world, there are five realms: Heaven, Earth, Sea, Underworld, and Stars.

For the Underworld's World Tree, the Star Realm had already been assigned to Aether.

Hades fully understood the significance of Erebus and Nyx's investment in his realm. While the two primordial deities were now fully bound to the underworld, some positions still needed to be filled.

Hades took this matter seriously.

The position of God-King for each of the five realms would ideally go to the children of Erebus and Nyx.

This wasn't just a matter of duty but also gratitude. Hades was not an ungrateful god.

Among these children were Aether, Hemera, Hypnos, and Thanatos.

These four deities held special statuses, and determining how to assign each to their respective positions was crucial.

Aether had already inherited the Star Realm.

So, after Aether, who would take the next position?

The remaining positions were Earth, Sea, and Underworld.

In theory, the most suitable candidate for the Lord of the Underworld would be Thanatos.

However, both Hypnos and Thanatos were capable of becoming the Lord of the Earth.

At this moment, Hades left the decision to them. He would not interfere.

Hades looked at the twin gods and continued, "The two of you will decide among yourselves. I will not involve myself. One of you will take this position."

"Let's go," Hades said to Persephone and Hestia, who nodded and followed him as they left the domain.

With the departure of the three, the atmosphere in the domain became utterly silent.

Hypnos and Thanatos stood, facing each other.

For a moment, the stillness felt almost oppressive, as if the air itself had become heavy.

The twins remained in silence, gazing at one another.

After a long pause, they spoke simultaneously:

"Hypnos."

"Thanatos."

But after that brief exchange, silence fell again.

The reality was that for the twin gods, their future path was undoubtedly bright. The position of Lord of the Earth only needed to be given to one of them.

However, while this seemed simple in theory, in practice, it was not an easy decision.

After all, this was the position of a God-King!

For any deity, the title of God-King held immense significance, beyond words.

Though the twins were not power-hungry, the chance to become a God-King was an entirely different matter.

They weren't impatient, nor were they in a rush.

But now that the opportunity was truly before them, even they found themselves speechless.

The weight of this moment was immense, and breaking free from that feeling would not be easy.

In fact, it was extremely difficult.
