Zoro just keeps dodging the 3's attacks until they run out of gas. He doesn't even move that fast, yet he can dodge all of them. He also doesn't use his Observation Haki and only uses his physical senses.
"You have quite good stamina. I thought you would run out of stamina even faster. Seems like Guy trained you well in this part. But your lack of experience is very clear when you lose your cool because I keep dodging your attacks narrowly. You get tired faster because you are angry and it makes you start using wasteful movements which end up wasting your stamina a lot too."
Zoro gives them lectures when they are lying tiredly on the ground. Guy isn't sure they can even listen to the lectures properly, but he stays silent because if he interrupts, then Zoro will pick a fight with him and he doesn't want to get beaten up in front of his students.
"Hey, Guy, the exam is already near, right?"
"Yeah, it starts in 2 weeks."
"Hmm, then there isn't much we can do, but we still need to try improving their skills. Well, these are just my opinions, but this is what I learned from seeing their attacks just now. Your younger version kid is fast and strong, but his skills lack variations. Only depending on his speed and power isn't enough. There are opponents who can't be defeated with only brute strength. Even if his opponent is weaker than him, if they are observant, they can take him down. You must have realized I didn't even move that fast, yet I could dodge his attacks easily because of my good observation. It was mainly because his attacks were easy to predict."
"I see, variation, huh? It won't be easy, but we should try. Maybe I need to improve their observation skills too."
"Their analysis skills and calmness too. The Hyuga kid is more observant and has good skills. But he has a temperament issue. He is taunted too easily which makes him lose focus, so he can't use his skills properly after that. As for the girl, she is good and observant of her teammates. Her attacks are in harmony with the other 2 because of that, but she lacks the power to fight alone. I think she is too used to being a support or something because of her teammates. She needs more experience fighting alone. Also, I think it will be better if she masters one type of weapon so she can use it as her main weapon. Learning to use everything at once is rather ineffective."
"But she loves using different types of weapons. She even wants to collect as many weapons as she can."
"Then learn the other weapons after mastering the main weapons. My point is, learning everything at once will slow down her progress. How long do you think it takes me to master the swords? I could reach this point because I only use swords and keep finding more ways to improve my swordsmanship. Now I know you shinobi love to use different weapons, but if you learn everything before mastering even one weapon, then your handling of all those weapons will be average or maybe less. In the end, all she could do was throw different weapons at me straight from the scrolls, right? What's the difference between that and just throwing shurikens? Learn a main weapon, master it, and learn to use other weapons to support the main weapon, covering its weaknesses."
"... You are surprisingly good at giving lessons." Guy is very surprised by Zoro's serious and quite detailed advice.
But his little commentary seems to piss off Zoro because he immediately gets a strong knock on the head that plants his face to the ground.
"Anyway, that's my advice. I can tell that you put more attention to the bowl hair, but don't forget about the others. The Hyuga kid can learn from his clan's techniques, but what about the girl? I've said this to Kakashi, but I'll tell you the same thing. If you don't teach her well, then who will? Ask others for advice if you don't understand, you have many friends, aren't you? Don't take the wrong steps and regret it in the future because the worst time to regret it is when you hold their cold bodies."
Zoro feels that he has become more emotional since he takes care of Hiyori, but it doesn't bother him at all. In fact, he likes this new feeling because it makes him feel like he has properly become a human.
"Oh, my training manager is here, so I need to go. Send my regards to your dad. He helped me a lot last time."
Because Zoro killed the previous 7 Swordsmen of Mist, Guy's father, Duy didn't get killed by them. He is still alive now and actually got promoted to Chuunin after being a genin for decades. It's all thanks to Guy who showed how great the 8 Gates technique is.
Duy who invented it got recognized too, so he got promoted. But he only got promoted to Chuunin not Jonin. To be a Chuunin, just having great power is sufficient.
But it takes more than just strong to be a jonin, he needs to have sufficient knowledge because Jonins are expected to be Team Captains and teach the younger shinobi. Too bad, Duy is quite lacking in that, so he only got promoted to Chuunin and that already took a lot of effort from Minato to make the elders agree.
Still, it's a great thing for someone who has been stuck as a genin for decades. At least now he can wear Konoha's flak jacket like most shinobi, so he can proudly walk around the village in it.
As for the reason Zoro says that Duy has helped him a lot, it's because Duy helped him improve his bare hand fighting skills. Duy is an expert Taijutsu master and he has a lot of free time, so Zoro often asks him for a sparring match.
Guy introduced them a few years ago and they have been fighting in friendly matches quite often since then. Zoro was using his swords to fight Duy in the beginning, but then he changed to only use his bare hands.
He could defeat Duy with swords, but when he started using just bare hands, he lost quite badly. Since then, Zoro only used his bare hands against Duy to improve his bare hand fighting skills because there might be times when he can't use his swords and can only use his hands.
Anyway, Hiyori has come with Torao and Tonton to pick Zoro up because it's already time to go back. Guy has heard about Hiyori, but it's still surprising to see her. After all, she really looks like Zoro's daughter with the same green hair as him.
"Who are they, uncle?" Hiyori asks curiously while looking at the 3 tired genins.
"My friend and his students. They joined me for training, but they got very tired, so they slept on the ground."
"Hehe, they are so silly to join Uncle's training. Even Grandma Tsunade doesn't want to train with you, saying it could kill her."
"That old hag is just lazy."
"Torao, water." Hiyori asks Torao for some bottles of water and she gives them to the shinobi.
"Grandma Tsunade said you need to stay hydrated when training hard, so I will give you some water." Hiyori tells them happily.
"Eh? Ah, right, thank you little girl." Only Tenten thanks her while the 2 boys and Guy are staring at the water stupidly.
But they quickly stop being stupid when they feel Zoro's murderous gaze.
"T-thank you for the water." They quickly thank her and drink the water, making her happy.
"Ah, are you hungry? I made some food for my Uncle, but it should be enough for all of us. Uncle, is it okay to share the food?"
"Sure. Food tastes better when eaten together, right?"
Hiyori smiles before taking out the boxed lunch from Torao's subspace storage. She has been helping Shizune cook the food lately because she wants to cook tasty food for Zoro and Torao when they are on a trip.
Zoro is more than happy to eat the food she makes. But it seems she prefers sweet food over savory because her onigiri is sweet. Everyone tries to hold it in to avoid hurting the little girl, but she also eats it, so she realizes her mistake.
"Oh no! I mistook the sugar as salt."
Well, at least her intention was correct.
