The next person was called in, while she made her way over to the waiting room. Caesar was seated in one of the chairs, legs crossed and patiently waiting for her.
He quickly got to his feet when he saw her, an expectant look on her face.
"How was it?" he asked as he approached. "Is everything okay? Did it go right? If you felt uncomfortable, in any odd way at all, just tell me and I'll—"
Adeline stepped up closer, wrapping her arms around him. She hugged him tightly, burying her face in his chest.
"I don't know why I suddenly feel like this, but I love you so much. I really really love you and I want to spend the rest of the day with you."
Caesar blinked.
Why…was she crying?
"Adeline."
"Do you really have to go to work today?"
"You know I'll always come back to you, doll," he said softly.
"Can't you just stay with me, just today?" she asked, begging. "I won't ask for much. Just stay around with me. That is all. Just for today. Please."
