A deafening explosion interrupted the confrontation between Kamiyagawa and Ibaraki-dōji.
The terrifying noise, coming from nowhere, was enough to make the heavens and earth tremble. The sound penetrated the overlapping strange space between the basement and The Living Fish Inn, the sound waves reverberating and shaking. In the next second, everything around fell into a brief silence, followed by a humming buzz, echoing in the air.
"What did you do!?" Ibaraki, crouched on the ground, her pupils blood-red, blazing with the flames of anger, like boiling oil splashed, hissed deep within her heart, with every nerve in her body trembling with rage.
The resentful eyes wished to devour the opponent alive.

Even Kamiyagawa himself felt bewildered by the sudden aberration.
