With one hand rubbing Harry's head, Thomas Shannon asked casually, "What has the maniac been up to while I was away?"
Harry, curled up in his master's embrace, contentedly closed his eyes for a nap.
Minimus Hart knew the maniac must have said something to him.
She replied respectfully, "Young Master, after you left, I arranged work for the maniac: cleaning the swimming pool, tidying up, moving the animals from the dark room to the courtyard to get some sun... These are the tasks the maids usually do on weekdays. Since you said the maniac is one of us, I assigned her the same tasks as the maids."
"That's it?" Thomas Shannon's tone rose, his deep voice carrying an intimidating force without showing anger.
Minimus Hart knelt before him, her body humbly pressed to the floor. "Young Master, every word I said is true."
"Then why didn't you arrange for a doctor to treat her when she was sick for two days?"
