Chapter 74 - Three Faction Meeting (2)

"...Who are they…?"

Kamiya glanced toward Azazel's entourage.

"They're strong… I think they could easily take down Xenovia and Irina right now."

In his mind, Kamiya never imagined Azazel would bring such a large group with him—and more surprisingly, they didn't appear to be fallen angels.

"Allow me to introduce them. These are our companions—Rias Gremory and her familiars, Sona Sitri and her Queen, and that young man over there is the key figure in Kokabiel's defeat: Hajime Sitri."

Kamiya and the others bowed respectfully to the leaders of each faction.

"Good work. I truly appreciate your help."

Michael smiled warmly and offered his praise.

"Apologies… seems like one of my men caused quite a mess for you."

Azazel's tone was light, almost joking as he glanced at Rias and the others.

""…..""

'Azazel-san… I don't think you should be apologizing with a laugh… your companions look like they've long given up on reacting to your attitude…'

Seeing how Azazel's entourage stood silently behind him, Kamiya could only assume they had become numb to his antics.

"Now then, let's begin the Three Faction Meeting."

Sirzechs formally initiated the meeting with the main topics: Kokabiel's attack and the peace treaty.

"And that concludes the full report of the incident involving myself, Rias Gremory, and my servants."

"I, Sona Sitri, also testify to the accuracy of the report as one of those involved in the incident."

Rias and Sona's detailed accounts of the attack were clear and precise.

They explained how Kokabiel appeared, who was involved, and the consequences of the incident thoroughly.

The faction leaders listened attentively. Michael, in particular, asked why Kokabiel did what he did—and questioned Azazel's leadership, which allowed such a thing to happen.

Azazel simply responded with a calm voice, stating he was willing to take full responsibility for the damages caused by his subordinate. He also added that he would personally intervene should any further unrest occur involving the Fallen Angels.

Sirzechs and Serafall weren't too concerned about the compensation. What they were more focused on was the safety of young Devils like Rias and Sona, who could become targets again.

'Honestly… Azazel is in a tough position right now…'

Kamiya could see it—how Azazel might have to spend much of his time and energy just monitoring the Fallen Angels. And with Vali possibly turning against him, it was a sad sight.

Maybe I should buy him some consoles and alcohol later…

As the discussion went on, the topic shifted to how Kokabiel managed to gather nearly all of the Excalibur holy swords. Eventually, they brought up how Kokabiel was defeated.

"By the way… I'd like to hear the story directly from the one who took down one of my strongest subordinates."

"….."

Azazel turned toward Kamiya, who had been zoning out, clearly didn't pay attention.

"I'm also very interested in hearing how you managed to generate and control such a vast amount of Holy Power."

"....."

Kamiya hesitated for a moment, but after meeting Sirzechs' gentle smile and nod, he understood—it was alright to speak.

"Then allow me to explain how I was able to end that battle."

"So… you mean, while Kokabiel was busy fighting Rias Gremory and the others, you stayed outside to protect Sona Sitri and her peerage? And after assessing the situation inside the academy, you decided to assist in the fight using the Sekiryuutei's power?"

"That's correct."

Azazel confirmed the sequence of events, still trying to process how Kamiya had done everything so efficiently—it felt like he had known what was coming and prepared in advance.

This kid really is strange…

Azazel thought that young Devils nowadays were stranger than those from the past—not in a bad way, but their oddness stemmed from entirely different reasons.

"You've done well. Besides saving Xenovia, Irina, and Zephyr, you also recovered the holy swords and returned them to us. For that... a proper reward is in order."

"Thank you for your kind words. But I only did what anyone else would have done in that situation."

Kamiya glanced at Vali, who leaned casually against the wall. Vali returned his gaze with a knowing smile—as if he understood Kamiya was referring to him.

"It wasn't just words. I was truly impressed by how you wielded such immense holy energy… and how you held Durandal without being harmed by its divine aura."

"….."

'Honestly, I'm not even sure how to explain that…'

"By the way, Serafall… I wasn't aware your family had relatives who married into the Fallen Angels."

"…He is…"

"….."

Serafall and Sona looked at Kamiya with conflicted expressions. He knew the truth would come out eventually. Deep down, he didn't want the Sitri name to be tainted because of him. He had already prepared himself for this.

"I don't intend to cause any offense… but if I may state a fact—I'm not truly a member of the Sitri family."

"Oh? How interesting."

Azazel caught on immediately. Since the beginning, he suspected something—no way would a pureblood Devil family like the Sitri accept a hybrid child. And now, his suspicion was confirmed.

In this meeting, the mystery surrounding Hajime only deepened further.

"Now I'm even more intrigued. How did a half-Devil, half-Angel boy come under the care of the Sitri clan?"

"I was simply lucky."

"Heh. Then your luck must be extraordinary."

"You flatter me."

"And about how you were able to hold Durandal without injury…"

"....."

"I'd like to know how you managed that."

"....."

'Azazel-san… I know you're curious… but this is hard to explain…'

"I… I just felt like I could wield it."

"You just… felt like it?"

"Yes… the situation was dire. I needed a powerful weapon to fight Kokabiel. And Durandal happened to be the best option. To fully utilize its power, I asked Hyoudou Issei to boost my holy energy to its limit."

"I see… you're quick-witted. Impressive."

If you can smile that casually, maybe stop pressing with the questions already… seriously…

"But I didn't expect you to sense the holy sword even though it was sealed in another dimension…"

'Michael-san… believe it or not, I'm actually more sensitive to holy and demonic energy than most.'

"As a hybrid of Angel and Devil… I've been fortunate to receive and develop both sides equally."

"Very well… thank you for your answer."

I bowed my head and stepped back.

Talking like this really isn't my strength. But I knew if I didn't start revealing the truth piece by piece, it might only get worse later.

And when I looked straight ahead… those red eyes were still on me.

'That gaze… it's getting sharper…'

"Now then, shall we move on to the main topic of this meeting?"

"Indeed."

Michael replied, closing his eyes.

Sirzechs and Serafall nodded at the same time.

"The peace treaty…"

Will mark the beginning of countless new conflicts.
