"Feel free to ask anything. I'll tell you everything I can," said Nagasawa as he pressd Obito to the ground and sat down.
Shisui sat across from Nagasawa. A hint of hesitation flashed across his face, but he quickly regained composure and asked, "Why are you here? Shouldn't you be overseeing the Chunin Exams in Konoha at this time? Could it be that you already knew about the masked man being in the Land of Water and have been secretly protecting us?"
Originally, Shisui thought this might involve some important secrets, so he hesitated to ask. However, since Nagasawa instructed him to ask, he decided to proceed.
Nagasawa nodded and explained, "Exactly. Yesterday, during the Chunin Exams, I should have been in Konoha overseeing the quarterfinals and semifinals. However, I had already arranged everything regarding the exams. Whether I'm there or wouldn't make any difference.
Then, due to a reason I can't disclose, I found out that the masked man might be in the Land of Water. So, three days after you guys set off, I arrived in the Land of Water. Remember the Summon Steel Tag I gave you?"
"Of course, I remember. It's extremely powerful, the most terrifying Tag I've ever seen," Shisui replied, recalling the immense power of the Summon Steel Tag.
"It has something I left on it. Once you use it, I can sense it, allowing me to get here in an instant," Nagasawa explained. He clarified that he hadn't been following Shisui and the others the entire time. But Nagasawa indeed had been investigating Land of Water's dessert parlor before Shisui used the Tag.
"I see," Shisui said. No wonder Nagasawa gave him such a powerful Tag just for a mission to the Land of Water. Initially, he thought Nagasawa was concerned about any potential accidents, but it turned out to have other purposes.
Nagasawa's initial purpose for sending them to the Land of Water was probably not just to invite the Mizukage to the Five Kage Summit; dealing with the masked man was likely another objective.
"How did you know I was in the Land of Water?" Obito, who had awakened from the sorrow of losing the Mangekyō Sharingan, couldn't help but ask.
Only two people could know about his presence in the Land of Water: Nagato and Konan. However, they wouldn't have shared this information with Nagasawa, and even if they knew he was in the Land of Water, they didn't know the details of his plans there.
"How did I know? Well, I just do. You're ten years too early if you think you can trick me," Nagasawa said, obviously not revealing the truth about his knowledge of the future. Then, he casually punched Obito's head.
Bang!
Obito's head slammed the ground intimately, creating a small dent.
"Captain Nagasawa, can you let me interrogate the masked man? I want to know where he obtained the Mangekyō Sharingan," Shisui asked.
Shisui harbored no good feelings for the masked man, who had attacked Konoha before, controlled the Fourth Mizukage, terrorized Kirigakure, and tried to instigate a war between Konoha and Kirigakure. Shisui only wanted to know what kind of person the masked man truly was – whether he was the real Madara Uchiha, his successor, or a thief who had stolen someone else's Mangekyō Sharingan.
However, regardless of who he was, due to the things he has done, Shisui would never admit that he was a member of the Uchiha Clan.
"There was no need for that. This guy is an Uchiha. He's Obito Uchiha, who's said to be deceased during the Third Great Shinobi World War." Nagasawa nonchalantly told the truth.
There were only the two of them here, and the Fourth Mizukage was already unconscious.
As for Zetsu, Nagasawa believed that the crafty Zetsu had likely run far away as soon as he saw Nagasawa appear and dealt with Obito.
Zetsu was a very realistic guy. Even if Obito hadn't lost the Mangekyō Sharingan, Zetsu would have fled upon seeing Nagasawa. After all, Zetsu was the core to revive Kaguya, and no one else wanted to resurrect that several-thousand-year-old woman.
So, when faced with danger, Zetsu would undoubtedly prioritize saving his own life. He could just deceive some other people to be his pawn again, but if he died, everything would be over.
"Obito Uchiha..." Shisui looked at the masked man pressed down by Nagasawa with a shocked expression.
Uchiha Clan lived in the same neighbourhood, and while not everyone knew each other, those around the same age should recognize each other. Although Obito was not a genius, he left an impression on Shisui due to his distinctive personality among the Uchiha.
In Shisui's memory, Obito was the kind of good person who would help an old lady cross the street. Even if he died, it would be recorded on the memorial stone as a war hero.
The present masked man, on the other hand, had committed almost every imaginable atrocity. He had attacked Konoha, nearly killing the Fourth Hokage's wife, the Jinchuriki of the Nine-Tails, Kushina. He also let Nine-Tails loose on Konoha.
He also controlled the Fourth Mizukage, terrorizing Kirigakure, attempting to prevent the Five Kage Summit and instigate a war between Konoha and Kirigakure.
Such actions categorized the masked man as an extremely evil individual.
Shisui found it difficult to accept that a good person and war hero who would help an old lady cross the street had turned into such a super-villain.
"Captain Nagasawa, is there some misunderstanding here? There's no way he's Obito Uchiha, right?" Shisui still clung to a glimmer of hope.
However, Shisui knew the likelihood was slim. Nagasawa enjoyed joking, but he wouldn't make a joke about a deceased hero.
"Hehe, Obito Uchiha? What are you thinking? Has Konoha already forgotten the name Uchiha Madara?" Although Obito was quite surprised, he quickly denied it, even though he might die soon.
Perhaps he didn't want to tarnish his former name before dying. Or maybe he feared that news of his actions would reach Minato and Obito. Or perhaps he had no face to meet Rin, having failed to complete his plan.
Obito didn't know, but he genuinely didn't want to reveal his name. Let him die as Uchiha Madara, die as an ambitious man.
"If Uchiha Madara had only your level of ability, he wouldn't have the capability to create Konoha alongside Hashirama," Nagasawa chuckled.
Shisui remained silent. Clearly, Nagasawa's words held more convincing power than Obito's. Even though Nagasawa was strong, Madara was once one of the strongest individuals in an era of extraordinary talents. It was impossible for him to be defeated so effortlessly.
"No need for further interrogation. This guy is Obito Uchiha, a member of your Uchiha clan, and the 'sacrifice' of the Third Great Ninja War," Nagasawa stated the truth outright.
With only the two of them present, and the Fourth Mizukage already unconscious, Nagasawa hoped he wouldn't wake up.
As for Zetsu, Nagasawa believed the crafty old man had likely run far away as soon as he saw Nagasawa appear after swiftly dealing with Obito.
Zetsu was very practical. Even if Obito hadn't lost the Mangekyō Sharingan, Zetsu would have fled upon seeing Nagasawa. After all, Zetsu was the core of reviving Kaguya, and other than him, nobody's goal was to resurrect a several-thousand-year-old woman. Everyone aimed for world peace.
So, when faced with danger, Zetsu would undoubtedly prioritize saving his own life. Others could die, be cultivated again, and deceived again, but if he died, everything would be over.
"Obito Uchiha..." Shisui looked at the masked man pressed down by Nagasawa with a shocked expression.
The ninja clans lived together, and while not everyone knew each other, those of similar ages had some knowledge. Obito, despite not being a genius and even being considered a laggard, had left an impression on Shisui due to his distinctive personality among the Uchiha.
In Shisui's memory, Obito was the kind of good person who would help an old lady cross the street. Even if he died, it would be recorded on the memorial stone as a war hero.

He also controlled the Fourth Mizukage, stirring up a blood mist policy within Kirigakure Village, making life miserable for its inhabitants, all to prevent the Five Kage Summit and instigate a war between Konoha and the Mist Village.
Such actions categorized the masked man as an extremely evil individual.
A good person and war hero who would help an old lady cross the street had turned into such a super-villain. Shisui found it difficult to accept.

He also controlled the Fourth Mizukage, terrorizing Kirigakure, attempting to sabotage the Five Kage Summit and instigate a war between Konoha and Kirigakure.
Such actions categorized the masked man as an extremely evil individual.
A good person and war hero who would help an old lady cross the street had turned into such a super-villain. Shisui found it difficult to accept.

It seemed like Obito doesn't want to tarnish his former name before facing death. Perhaps he feared that his actions will be known to Minato or Kakashi, or maybe it's because he hasn't completed his plan and ddidn't want to face the deceased Rin.
Regardless, Obito is determined to die as Madara Uchiha, embracing the persona of an ambitious individual.
"Madara Uchiha, if this is all you got, you wouldn't be able to create Konoha with Hashirama," Nagasawa chuckled, adding a mocking tone.
Shisui remained silent. Clearly, Nagasawa's words were more convincing than Obito's. Even if Nagasawa were powerful, Madara was once hailed as one of the strongest Shinobi in the world. It was impossible for him to be defeated so easily.
"It's up to you whether to believe me or not. If you want to kill me, go ahead. If I manage to escape, I'll intensify my attacks on Konoha," Obito threatened Nagasawa boldly.
Nagasawa raised an eyebrow, acknowledging Obito's audacity. The young man dared to speak of attacking Konoha in front of him.
Nagasawa seized Obito and forcefully slammed him into the ground, creating a substantial crater. This time, it was more severe than the previous impact, causing Obito to bleed profusely.
Shisui hesitated, wanting Nagasawa to go easy on Obito. After all, they hadn't gathered all the necessary information yet, and it would be better to wait until the interrogation was complete before resorting to lethal force.
However, as Nagasawa's hands emitted a green glow, Shisui closed his mouth.
As a person that was trained by Nagasawa, he was obviously aware of how potent Nagasawa's Medical Ninjutsu was.
Using Mystical Palm Technique, Nagasawa healed Obito's injuries, preventing him dying. He then spoke, "Your attempt at provocation is quite clumsy. Yet, I still can't resist the urge to teach you a lesson. Your bravery is commendable for uttering such words in front of me."
"Hehe, if you have the guts, go ahead and kill me," Obito maintained his defiant stance, attempting to provoke Nagasawa further, seemingly desiring his own demise.
"I enjoy saying 'no' to arrogant individuals like you. Death isn't that simple; dying right away would be too good for you," Nagasawa declared as he lifted Obito.
Despite Nagasawa's powerful strike, the mask only cracked. It seemed Obito had a clue of what Nagasawa was about to do.
Anticipating Nagasawa's actions, Obito fiercely resisted, using both hands and feet in an attempt to break free from Nagasawa's firm grip. However, his strength was incomparable to Nagasawa's. With a swift chop, Nagasawa made Obito feel as if his arms had lost all sensation.
Nagasawa removed Obito's mask and casually tossed it aside, revealing a somewhat young-looking face. However, it was only the left side of his face. The right side bore uneven swirl patterns, resembling whirlpools, making it look quite grotesque.
"Obito..." Shisui's eyes showed complexity. Despite significant changes, he could still sense many familiar aspects from that face.
There was no mistake; the masked man who attacked Konoha, controlled the Fourth Mizukage, and terrorized Kirigakure was indeed Obito Uchiha.
Obito closed his remaining Three-Tomoe Sharingan and spoke with a hoarse voice, "Satisfied now?"
"What's wrong? You can't show your true face anymore after wearing the mask for too long?" Nagasawa asked.
Obito still kept his eyes closed, ignoring Nagasawa's question.
"Don't try to get any information from me. I've died once, experienced something more painful than death. There's nothing that can make me yield. The only thing you can do is kill me."
Obito finally spoke, perhaps due to being embarrassed with both Shisui and Nagasawa looking at him.
"It's been so long. You've changed a lot, to the point that even Minato doesn't recognize you. But your stubbornness hasn't changed," Nagasawa said with a smile.
Obito had always been stubborn, often refusing to admit defeat, especially in front of Kakashi.
Perhaps it was because Rin was around. After all, boys didn't like losing face in front of the girls they liked.
Obito remained silent. After a moment, Nagasawa turned to Shisui and said, "Shisui, take the Fourth Mizukage with you. Leave a message for the Kirigakure that the Fourth Mizukage was controlled by someone and attacked Konoha's Shinobi. Then return directly to Konoha."
"Take the Fourth Mizukage to Konoha?" Shisui asked.
"Yes, bring him back to Konoha. Remember to use a Medical Tag to treat him. We don't want him dying on the way." Nagasawa nodded decisively.
There were two reasons that Nagasawa did not hand the Fourth Mizukage over to Kirigakure. First, Kirigakure might have a lot of issues to deal with after learning the information. To avoid delaying the Five Kage Summit, they should bring the Mizukage to Konoha first.
Second, he planned to extort Kirigakure.
Joking aside, the Shinobi that Konoha sent this time were elites. Being attacked by the Fourth Mizukage had caused significant trauma. Their families would also suffer great mental distress upon learning about it, leading to severe damage to Konoha. Why not claim compensation?
Kirigakure wasn't known for being benevolent. Nagasawa still remembered when they initiated a war against Konoha during the Third Great Ninja War.
After receiving Nagasawa's affirmation, Shisui didn't ask further questions. Instead, he grabbed the Fourth Mizukage and headed towards the direction where Yanagi and others had left.
Nagasawa shifted his attention back to Obito. "Now, it's just the two of us. Tell me, why did you do this? Minato is your teacher, and Kushina is his wife. They've treated you well, haven't they? Why would you want to kill them? Konoha is your birthplace, the place that raised you. Do you have any grudge against Konoha?"
Obito opened his Three-Tomoe Sharingan and, with a hoarse voice, replied with a hint of mockery, "Someone who can't even recognize his own disciple can become the Fourth Hokage? Konoha is nothing special. What if it's destroyed? Besides, if you're so powerful, why didn't you intervene back then? If you had joined the war, you could have easily dealt with Iwagakure and effortlessly resolved the issues with Kirigakure."
"R-Rin... Rin wouldn't have died..."
As Obito spoke, he became extremely agitated, his expression contorted and grim. Tears flowed continuously from his eyes, as if recalling painful and sorrowful memories.
"You...," Nagasawa clenched his fist, then suddenly stopped just before striking Obito's face.
Bang!
Eventually, he proceeded with the punch, fiercely hitting Obito's face.
"I really can't resist the urge to beat you up," Nagasawa sighed, preparing to give Obito a proper lesson for being deceived and causing trouble.
