Hudson immediately stepped backwards and shouted at William, "will you let your daughter talk to me like that?"
"She is not my daughter here. She is a sergeant. Whatever happened between you two, figure it out yourselves. I have other things to do. I have to talk to DCPI. Good day!" said William and walked out of the precinct. Journee looked at Hudson and smiled for the first time.
She was glad that her father was on her side. She was aware that he, too, knew that Journee would never act recklessly without any reason. Hudson must have done something to trigger her. She knew her father saw Hudson whispering something in her ear. It was clear to her that he was going to ask about that when they got home. She sighed, thinking about that.
