Although Ding Ling's hometown also has cold weather, it's somewhat close to the South. After the Spring Festival, the weather warms up, and today there was no snow.
After an afternoon of work, as evening approached, there were fires lit inside and outside the Ding Family courtyard. Besides roasting meat, they also turned the organs into dishes!
There's only so much space in the Ding Family's place, it's impossible for a dozen families to eat here and make all their food here. At the very least, when they cook, or turn these organs and small animals into dishes, they all use the kitchens of those dozen families.
While having dinner, they also brought over tables and benches from home, a small village habit.
Whenever a family held a celebration, other villagers would help out. Even without sending gifts, they would lend a hand, using their kitchens at home, with plenty of firewood from the mountains on both sides.
