Lu Lin caught Tie Tou as he fell and checked his breathing.
Tie Tou's chest had suffered a heavy blow, leaving a large indentation in his bulletproof vest.
From the looks of it, someone had kicked him squarely in the chest.
In just a few seconds, Tie Tou had sustained such severe injuries, a clear testament to the attacker's formidable leg strength.
"Priest, come down and save him!" Lu Lin called out.
"I know."
Zuo Yiming, also aware of the unfavorable situation through the internal channel, had already abandoned his idea of proving his strength to his father.
After treating the wounds of a seriously injured hostage on the third floor, Zuo Yiming leaped down, carrying the person.
Handing the hostage to Lu Lin, Zuo Yiming gathered a ball of white light in his hand.
Instantly, a trace of color returned to Tie Tou's pale face.
As for Zuo Yiming, he was, after all, just a newly awakened high school student, and his Star Power was exhausted after consecutively healing two people.
"Priest, can you manage?" Lu Lin joked, holding the injured hostage with one arm.
"It's not fatal. You take these two wounded out first," Zuo Yiming said feebly.
Lu Lin nodded and made two trips to carry the injured individuals out, handing them over to the waiting doctor.
"You rest here for a while; I'll go up and take a look."
Zuo Yiming wanted to hold Lu Lin back but lacked the strength. He could only watch as Lu Lin leaped up. "Be careful," he managed to say.
Lu Lin ignored him.
The reason he had decided to participate in this operation was not to play the hero.
When he saw Luo Ling's sister get shot by a robber on the Command Center's video feed, Lu Lin had felt a pang in his heart.
He remembered an incident from his childhood.
Due to its harsh environment, Saturn was often plagued by storms, and the federation's management there wasn't as effective as it was on Blue Star.
Consequently, many criminal gangs on Saturn operated outside normal human society.
They burned, killed, and looted, acting like vampires preying on ordinary people.
During Lu Lin's elementary school years, he once waited three hours after school, but his parents never came to pick him up.
He later learned that the bus his parents were on had been hijacked by criminals. They had taken the passengers to a remote location and were blackmailing the company Lu Ping and Meng Yu worked for, demanding wealth and supplies for their release.
Fortunately, many workers had been taken hostage at that time. The company Lu Lin's parents worked for paid what the robbers demanded, and the people were safely ransomed back.
That incident was the most painful memory of Lu Lin's childhood.
He had almost lost his parents.
It was precisely because of this that when he saw Luo Ling's sister and so many other kidnapped hostages today, Lu Lin had chosen to step forward.
He hoped that if one day his parents found themselves in a similar situation, there would be powerful Star Core Warriors who could step up and save them.
Leaping up to the third floor, Lu Lin surveyed the area before arriving at the main hall.
Fire Dragon Captain was engaged in a fight with a robber. Although clearly outmatched, he was managing to hold on for a little longer.
Jin Dao's body lay outside Room 302, blood pooling on the floor.
Two team members were jointly fighting a masked man who fought with bizarre movements.
Only when he got closer did Lu Lin perceive that the masked man was controlling transparent silk lines.
The two Star Martial Team members had clearly never encountered such a situation before and were struggling, visibly outmaneuvered.
As for the hostages on the third floor, they were all cowering in their rooms, too terrified to emerge.
Lu Lin quickly assessed the situation and rushed to the two team members' side.
These two team members were named Eagle Claw and Bao Zi.
Facing the opponent's strange attacks, bloody gashes appeared on their hands, legs, and faces.
Lu Lin took out his electromagnetic stun gun and aimed cautiously.
SWOOSH!
Barely had he raised his arm when he felt his grip loosen.
Looking up, he saw that the man controlling the silk lines had detected his movement; a silk line had whipped out and snatched his gun. This person was fighting two opponents yet still had the presence of mind to take Lu Lin's pistol. His strength was definitely not to be underestimated.
Lu Lin drew his dagger and joined the fray.
How he wished the dagger in his hand could be replaced by a long sword at that moment.
After all, he had practiced these three sword styles throughout high school.
Lu Lin's arrival allowed Eagle Claw and Bao Zi a moment of respite.
But the robber showed no signs of being flustered, his silk lines weaving an impenetrable defense.
This was a combat style specifically for dealing with multiple attackers; the more opponents he faced, the more formidable his defense became.
Unless his limit was broken, not even five or ten people, let alone three, would pose a threat to him.
"Stone Skin!"
The silk lines lashed towards him.
Lu Lin quickly activated the Stone Skin Star Skill. The silk lines slid across Lu Lin's skin, making an unpleasant sizzling sound.
His defense hadn't been breached!
Lu Lin was thrilled.
After activating his Earth Talent, this was the first time he had truly felt the advantage of a strong defense.
Moreover, his Second Star Vein provided him with Level Zero, Stage Three Star Power. As long as his Star Power wasn't depleted quickly, he wouldn't be harmed by the cutting power of the opponent's silk lines.
In that case…
A bold idea suddenly formed in Lu Lin's mind.
When the silk lines attacked him again, Lu Lin not only didn't dodge but swung his arms around in several circles, entangling them.
"You!"
The robber opposite him was stunned, clearly not expecting Lu Lin to make such a move.
This momentary pause made his movements falter.
However, the eyes of Eagle Claw and Bao Zi, who were beside Lu Lin, lit up.
They hadn't expected a newly awakened high school student to create such a prime opportunity for them.
A layer of golden light coated Eagle Claw's hands as he reached for their opponent, his grip like steel.
Gold System Star Skill: Hardening.
Not to be outdone, Bao Zi gathered a ball of dancing flames in his hand and thrust it fiercely towards their opponent.
Fire System Star Skill: Fire Cannon.
The silk line-wielding robber forcibly twisted his body, attempting to evade their combined attack.
He hadn't anticipated that Lu Lin, who had wrapped his arms around the silk lines, would suddenly shout:
"Come hit me!"
The robber felt an inexplicable force pulling him towards Lu Lin.
BANG!
BANG!
Eagle Claw's hands gripped his arms, holding him fast.
This left his chest wide open to Bao Zi's incoming Fire Cannon.
"The God of Black Shark is eternal!" the robber shrieked, his voice shrill.
He knew he couldn't evade the attack, yet there wasn't a trace of fear or terror on his face.
His eyes were bloodshot, his expression dazed.
"The God of Black Shark is eter—"
BANG!
The Star Skill Fire Cannon slammed into his chest, blasting a horrifying hole straight through it.
The wound was charred; three seconds passed before blood finally began to flow.
"F*ck your M, bullshit God of Black Shark!" Eagle Claw spat, then looked at Bao Zi, who was pale and looked utterly drained. "You brat, don't you know how to control your strength? If I hadn't dodged quickly, you might've blasted me too!"
Bao Zi gave a miserable smile, pointing to the still-fighting Fire Dragon Captain as his arm dropped feebly.
"Bao Zi, are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Hurry and help the Captain," Bao Zi said to Lu Lin, slumping to the ground.
He had merely overdrawn his Star Power and just needed a moment to recover.
With that last strike, Bao Zi had unleashed every last bit of Star Power in his body.
Not a single drop of Star Power remained.
"Alright, you rest here for a bit."
Even as he spoke, Lu Lin and Eagle Claw were already rushing towards Fire Dragon Captain.
"Hahaha! The God of Black Shark is eternal!"
The robber fighting Fire Dragon Captain laughed maniacally as he launched a fierce flurry of attacks.
Before Lu Lin and Eagle Claw could reach him, he executed an explosive retreat, leaping out of a third-floor window.
