The guards watched in horror as their Emperor, right before their eyes, had his tongue cut out, struck dumb with terror.
These people meant business; they said they would cut the Emperor's tongue, and they did, without the slightest room for negotiation. The commander of the guards watched the Emperor of Beikun roll on the ground, completely dumbfounded.
Were not the State Knights right beside His Majesty? How could they stand by, doing nothing, and just watch their Emperor's tongue being gouged out?
