Audrey's eyes squeezed in and a frown voluntarily formed on her forehead as the sunlight hit her face, she rolled over to the other side which was comfortable buy the same thing happened again, She groaned "Annie!..." her husky voice echoed in the quite room.
"Morning your highness" opening curtains to let the light in was the quickest way to wake her up and only Zara and Annie knows about that she sat up yawning covering her mouth with her palm "Mmmm" she stretched her body like a stary cat, feeling so lazy to wake up at all. Back at her home ....she would usually get served a breakfast on bed like a princess that she is and her parents wouldn't complain about her absence at the breakfast.
She turned her sleepy face to her front and almost jolted, four woman in maids attires stood with blank faces facing the floor as if they were given a punishment.
'Wait a minute, were they here this whole time?' she didn't even notice them entering and what? Were they just going to stand like that until she wakes up? This is an absurd!' .She had ladies on waiting back at home but no she never treat them in such manner, who told them to act that way? it's too tiring.
Seeing the confusion on her face Annie cleared her throat and pulled forward and old woman out of the standing four statues. "Your highness, this is Maria .... the headmaid of the castle" Maria bowed respectfully "Greetings my Queen" Audrey smiled warmly, this must be the so called kind woman that Annie told her about last night, she doesn't know why buy she suddenly felt very fond of the old woman, it's their first time meeting but she felt good to have her around already. "Mmm" she hummed. Maria was flattered by the Queen's smile ... she is very beautiful, she turned head to the remaining three behind her and ordered them to step forward with her "Your highness.... these girls would be your personal maids, they will attend and serve you, and if you need more maids you can inform me anytime" she sang the sentences in one breath.
Audrey felt like clapping for her, she was too good for her age, "No, they are enough Maria" the three maids bowed paying their respect to the beautiful Goddess before the bed, she just woke up and apart from her messed up hairs she looks so flawless. Audrey reached down the floor and all of the three maids went down to their knees and Maria bowed quickly, surprising her and Annie to the core, "What are all doing? Get up quickly!" ordered Audrey to have them all stand like they were slapped, she reached Maria's hands and held them into hers, they all gasped shocked, how could a Queen hold hands of a mare servant?
Audrey gave Annie a knowing look and they both chuckled, Maria felt like she would fall down anytime cause her legs had became weak the moment she held them, she swallowed.
"You all need to calm down okay?" said Annie feeling disgusted amused by their reactions. "Yes please, even though I am a Queen doesn't mean you have to worship me like a God" she paused and saw their faces even more shocked by her words, she rubbed Maria's hands that was full of wrinkles given her age, she was visibly uncomfortable and she wish for her not to be.
"Even though you all ate maids .... to me you are all a family, so no need for any of you to give this much attention to me and just relax when your around me. I won't be eating any of you, Is that clear?" she said with her authoritative tone, if she wants them to quickly cooperate with her then she would have to use her tittle, only then it would work.
Maria smiled from her eyes and the three maids were still zoned out registering the words, "Is that clear?" she said again holding back a laughter, these people were just too adorable right now. "Yes your highness!" they replied I'm unison.
"Take a look at us, we're more like sisters ,so just relax" bragged Annie with a smile, although she was a Queen, she doesn't like all the attentions that comes with it, back at Dillonia she was close with most of the maids and servants, she just prefer it that way, for them to feel free and do what they want without being pressured and tempted by her.
"I knew it! I knew it! oh thanks dear heaven!" blurted Maria beaming with happiness making all of them stare at her on confusion, gone was the worried look and now she was more like a little girl that just received her favourite toy. She cleared her throat feeling awkward by their gazes "Anyways, My Queen you have to appear at the breakfast with the King as soon as possible" she uttered and kissed her cheek, Audrey was grinning with a confused look, what has gotten to this woman? "And if you need anytime, come find me at the maids quarters, anytime!" she emphasised the word was about about leave but was stopped "Err... Maria so you see the whole room is decorated by gold and our Queen here is only fond of silver in everything, so....." Annie had to inform her right away about it.
The maids and Maria were awestruck again, just what species is their Queen? A young lady from a royal family loves silver over gold? absolutely different! "Consider it done young lady, Maria would take care of that before sunset " at her words she bowed and left the room.
The maids prepared her bath and clothes with aid from Annie, she usually takes shower with milk water mixed with roses , so that is why her skin is so smooth and stunning the maids thought. They did her hairs , they were originally straight so it didn't take much time, she wore a floor length silk green dress with net long sleeves, it hugged her curves perfectly.They were about to do her make up but weren't surprised when their Queen stopped them and said she doesn't need it. She was a visible natural beauty after all, she was done after couple of minutes, one of the maids slid a silver tiara on her head and stepped back to give a last look at her Queen, With a gasp she blurted "Wow!.... you look so beautiful my Queen" she quickly covered her mouth fearing for blurting out her thoughts louder. Annietta and Audrey chuckled shocking their heads "Thank you.... all of you, we get going now" she gave them a warm smile before walking her way out with Annie behind her, Once the door was closed the maids let ou there their breath, one was fanning her face, their eyes litting wirh admiration, "Wow! our Queen is such a nice person" she cried dramatically with no tears, "She is so beautiful more than lady Acine" blurted a second maid "Shhh! do you have a death wish? Talking bad about the royal concubine could have your neck on plate!" scolded the third one and they all shut up for good. Nobody dares to badmouth the royal concubine or else they must be tired if living.
It's a treason! and the King would personally get rid of you right at spot, that's how much witted he is about her.
Audrey was received with bows on jer way to the Royal breakfast, she returned them with her beautiful warm smile, a smile that lights up everyone's heart making the morning beautiful in their eyes. They were all smitten by her beauty and you could hear the murmurs behind her .
"The Queen is here" said an announcer, Audrey patted his shoulder, almost collapsed on the floor from the shock "You don't have to announce me next time" she gave him her killer smile and entered the room, Annie chuckled "You can breath now" she teased the announcer, the mean breath for real it's only then he realised that he held her breath this whole time.
This poor man's face was a sight to see, he let out another deep breath not able to believe what just happened.
Audrey halted the moment she saw the woman, she was sitting on the right hand side of the King, the man at the head chair. "Greetings my King" she bowed respectfully before walking to seat at the left hand side of the King. Levy spared a glance at her "Hmm, I hope you had a peaceful night Rey" he said, Audrey smiled showing her gratitude, "Of course my King, thank you for your concern" she sat down properly, shortly Acine who was nonchalantly sitting this whole time got up from her seat and bowed at her with a smile that doesn't reach her eyes "Greetings my Queen " Audrey puffed within her, she wanted to ignore her but she wasn't that arrogant, it would only bring a bad impression to the King. "Lady Acine" she smiled back. Acine then sat down, such a sly fox! she knows such types of people, the one who pretend to be something when they are absolutely something else.
Audrey fixed her gaze on the plate, they ate in silence for a while, Levyndrion took a piece of cloth dabbing it on his lips, he then picked up his glass of drink gracefully taking a sip, she really admired that side, like a well mannered gentleman.
"There will be a coronation ball at night, mainly to officially introduce you to the people, I'll see you there" he placed down the glass facing her , "Yes my King" she reposted and watched him going away. Acine excused herself too and followed him out.
So now she was left alone in a big grand Hall, sitting on a long table with was decorated with many dishes as if there was a feast. She felt a swell in ner heart but she gulped it down with a glass of wine, so this is how its going to be...
"So what if they leave? that doesn't mean I'll stop eating! Huh! I am going to finish everything here, I swear!" she murmured to herself blinking back her tears .Thank god the maids were standing a bit far from her with their heads lowered down or else they would've heard her silly words. There was no way she could finish even a full plate let alone the whole table.
She eyed the maids from afar and smiled when an idea popped on her mind, "All of you come here now!" she yelled loud enough for them to hear, they quickly came to her with worried looks.
