The skies over a quiet mountain town darkened with ominous silence. Wind whipped through the streets as two figures stood in the middle of the road, unmoving. Civilians screamed and fled as explosions echoed behind them. Trees were snapped in half. Asphalt was torn apart like paper. Cars flipped and buildings cracked.
Two androids had arrived.
Their skin was pale, mechanical bodies cloaked in eerie stillness. One was rotund, wearing a red vest and a black cap with the letters "RR." The other was gaunt, tall, and visibly cybernetic—his eyes cold with manufactured malice.
Android 19: "Energy signatures detected. They're nearby."
Dr. Gero (Android 20): "Excellent. Let's begin with a little warm-up."
With a twitch of his fingers, Android 19 fired a pink energy blast that vaporized a grocery store. Civilians barely had time to run before the buildings began crumbling.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the mountain
The Z Fighters had gathered at the designated meeting spot. They arrived in small groups, flying in with focused expressions.
Chiaotzu: "They should be here by now"
Piccolo: (eyes narrowing) "No fluctuation in energy… Just a cold, artificial void."
Vegeta: "So where are these androids? Hmph. Let's see what they can do."
Tien: No idea, we can't track them by Ki signatures.
Raditz: "Well whatever, let's just look for them"
Nappa: "About time something interesting happened."
Krillin: "Wait... Where's Yamcha?"
Downtown Mountain Town
Screams echoed as Dr. Gero raised his palm to destroy a hospital—when something struck his hand hard enough to divert the blast.
Yamcha stood tall, wearing a baseball cap and his customized gi over his MVP jersey.
Yamcha: "You picked the wrong town."
Gero scanned him. "Familiar face... no threat."
Android 19: "Weak energy. Eliminate?"
Yamcha smirked. "Weak? Buddy, I've been training with monsters."
He vanished. Then reappeared behind 19 with a double-fist hammer strike to the back of the android's head, sending him crashing through three buildings.
Yamcha (Kaioken): "You didn't expect a baseball star to punch like a freight train, huh?"
19 lunged with a mechanical shriek, arms extended, but Yamcha dodged every strike with wild grace, flipping and countering with precision.
Then—BOOM! A point-blank Wolf Fang Blast to the chest shattered the android's absorption system.
19 sparked. His red eyes blinked erratically.
Yamcha (Kaioken x3): "You're done."
With a final spiraling kick to the chin, Yamcha launched Android 19 into the sky—then blew him up with a Ki wave volley, igniting the heavens.
Silence. Until…
Dr. Gero: "You… you monsters! I'll make you all pay!"
He turned, activating a cloaking system and blasting off in a blur, but not before getting hit by a fast ball ki attack by Yamcha.
An explosion occurred and smoke was everywhere ensuring Dr. Gero's escape.
Yamcha: Damn it.. he got away.
Back at the Z Fighter meeting spot
Yamcha: (flying back, grinning) "Sorry I'm late. Took care of one for you."
Everyone stared.
Krillin: "Wait—you beat an android?"
Vegeta: "He what?!"
Tien: "Guess we're not the only ones who took training seriously."
Piccolo (arms crossed): "If that android was that easy… This Gero guy maybe cooking up something worse."
Goku: "Let's not celebrate yet. The real battle hasn't started."
Gohan: What about the other android, there should be two of them?
The Z fighters all looking at Yamcha
Yamcha (feeling guilty): He sorta got away. Te he~
Dr. Gero's Hidden Lab
Deep beneath the Earth, Dr. Gero stumbled into his command room, blood trickling from a wound. His synthetic skin was charred. He slammed his fist on the console.
Dr. Gero: "I was careless. They're far beyond projections. I'll awaken the others... Androids 17 and 18. And if that fails… 16 will rise."
He looked up at a giant stasis chamber, a shadow inside stirring faintly. If only Cell was ready he thought to himself.
Dr. Gero (gritting his teeth): "Soon… my vengeance will be absolute."
The sky cracked open as a blinding light tore through the clouds. A capsule-shaped time machine pierced the horizon and landed softly just beyond the city outskirts. The air rippled with Ki as the pod hissed open, and Future Trunks emerged, his sword slung across his back, hair swept by the wind, eyes scanning the environment carefully.
What he saw stunned him.
Powerful energies blanketed the Earth like a warm storm—refined, sharpened, and familiar. Not erratic like before, but precise and disciplined. It was a far cry from the scattered, desperate aura the warriors had in his timeline.
Trunks (thinking):They've grown… stronger than I imagined.
At the foot of Mount Paozu, the Z Fighters had gathered after Yamcha's surprise victory over an Android. Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Raditz, Nappa, Piccolo, and the Earthlings stood in anticipation. Goku looked up and smiled.
Goku: "He's here."
Trunks landed gently, dust rising beneath his boots. His presence caused an immediate stir. Most of the Z Fighters recognized him as the mysterious Super Saiyan from three years ago—but something had changed.
He walked straight up to Vegeta.
Trunks (bowing slightly): "Dad."
The entire group fell silent.
Yamcha: "...Wait. What?"
Krillin: "Did he just call Vegeta Dad?"
Vegeta (Raising an eyebrow): Explain now.
Trunks (quietly):"…You're right. You all deserve to know the truth."
He walks toward the group, removing his Capsule Corp jacket and placing it neatly over his sword. His expression is calm—but the pain in his eyes is impossible to miss.
Trunks:"I came from twenty years in the future. A world where most of you… are dead."
Gohan (blinking):"Dead…? What happened?"
Trunks:"In my timeline, the Androids appeared exactly as Dr. Gero planned. But Goku… died of a heart virus before they ever showed up. There was no cure in my time."
Goku kept silent and nodded to Trunks to continue.
Trunks (nods):"And without him, we were overwhelmed. One by one… the Z Fighters fell."
He pauses, gaze drifting across the shocked expressions.
Trunks (voice heavy):"Tien. Yamcha. Piccolo. Krillin. Even Master Roshi. All killed. The Dragon Balls became useless after Piccolo died."
Krillin's face goes pale. Gohan grips his father's gi tightly.
Trunks (voice becoming colder):"The world became a wasteland. Cities burned. My mother and I were two of the last survivors. The Androids… they didn't care about control. They killed for sport."
Vegeta (narrow-eyed):"And me? Where was I in this future of yours?"
Trunks (quietly):"…You died fighting. Like a true Saiyan."
Vegeta's eyes widen for a brief moment before narrowing again in silent contemplation.
There's a beat of silence. Then Trunks continues.
Trunks:"I came back in time to warn Goku. To change the course of history. I brought the medicine to cure your heart condition… and I stayed to help."
He looks directly at Vegeta now.
Trunks:"There's something else you should know. I'm… your son."
A long silence. The group collectively gasps.
Yamcha:"Wait, what?!"
Tien:"Vegeta's son?!"
Raditz (stoic but intrigued):"…Interesting."
Gohan (awed):"You're really…?"
Nappa (Teary eyed):"They grow up so fast."
Vegeta's face is unreadable. His jaw tightens slightly.
Reactions and Realizations
Vegeta (coldly):"You expect me to believe that?"
Trunks (not backing down):"You should ask Bulma, by now -and by the look on your face- you should already know she is pregnant. You fell in love—maybe not right away, maybe not even by choice—but you did. You fought hard to protect her. To protect me."
Vegeta looks away, not rejecting it… but not embracing it either.
Krillin (muttering):"Well, that's… kind of amazing. And kind of terrifying."
Gohan:"I can't imagine a world where you all were gone. Where I'm left alone."
Trunks (looking at Gohan):"You were my mentor, Gohan. You trained me. You were the last one fighting… until the day you didn't come back. I was thirteen."
Gohan's eyes fill with emotion. Even Vegeta flinches.
Once the chaos settled
Trunks: "Three years ago, I told you about Androids 17 and 18. The ones Yamcha just fought… that wasn't them. Maybe their an older model, but I don't know for sure.
Trunks turned to Yamcha. "Yamcha—do you know where he went?"
Yamcha rubbed the back of his head. "Yeah… he flew east. Toward the forest near the northern cliffs. But he went invisible or something. I couldn't track him."
Tien: "We'll search every inch of that forest."
Krillin: "Let's move fast. If he's activating more androids…"
Trunks: "He will. And when 17 and 18 awaken… things get worse."
Everyone nodded grimly.
Goku:"Trunks… you've been through hell. But we still have a chance now. Your warning gave us time."
Trunks:"I know. That's why I returned to help. But the timeline's already different now. Those androids… they weren't in my future."
Piccolo (grim):"Which means we're dealing with the unknown."
Trunks (firm):"Exactly. We need to be stronger than we've ever been. No more secrets. No more underestimating the enemy."
