"What are you doing?"
I realized I was dreaming, as soon as I saw the boy's face. It was that boy, Noah. He was drawing something on the snowy earth—a heart and two stick figures.
"A marriage contract!" Noah exclaimed.
"What's that?"
"Mommy said it's what people who love each other do when they get older." He replied. I studied the poorly drawn figures, humming in thought.
"Who's this?" I pointed to one of them.
"That's me!"
"Who's the other one?"
Noah blushed. "T-that's a secret!"
"You like keeping secrets, huh." I heard the sound of rustling from the southeast. Alarmed, I took Noah's hand in mine and pulled him to me.
"Hm?" Noah hummed in confusion.
"Let's go home."
"Ehhh? But, I'm not finished..." He pouted.
"We'll go back tomorrow. You can finish it then."
"Okay!"
As I watched the two leave a trail of their footsteps into the depths of the forest, I couldn't help but feel a sense of urgency. But then, I woke up.
