Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

"Oh, I see. I was wondering if Edward and I could join you guys. He just finished his assignment and says he is bored."

Oh no! I didn't want him to see me like this, but I hadn't interacted much with Edward despite my longing to see him .

"Um, can you come back in like five minutes? I don't want you to see me crying over a movie," I requested.

He chuckled. "Yeah, sure, five minutes it is."

When he left, I quickly wiped my tears.

"Are you okay?" Alexa asked.

I gave her a small smile. "Yes, I am. Please, where's the bathroom?"

She pointed forward to a door, and I started walking in that direction.

When I entered the bathroom, I immediately washed my face. I looked up at the mirror and saw how exhausted I looked. I really should stop crying, but it's something I can't help. I miss Ethan a lot.

After a few minutes of fixing myself, I went out of the bathroom to meet both Edward and Kyle.

"You said five minutes, okay?" Kyle reminded me. That meant I had used more than five minutes in the bathroom. I was really pathetic.

"Aunt, please come play with me! I have a lot of things I want to tell you." Edward is so cute—just like his father.

Smiling at him, I said, "Yes, sure. I also have a lot of things to tell you."

"So all you plan on doing is just talking to Edward?" Kyle asked. Wait, did he want me to talk to him also?

"I'm not sure what exactly I should do, and besides, in two hours I will be leaving."

"Hey, you didn't come on time, and now you want to leave early?" Alexa complained. Well, I didn't want to leave my mom all alone. Who am I kidding? There was a time I came home at 4 in the morning, and Mom didn't complain. But I didn't feel like waiting long today.

"I'm so sorry, Alexa, but my mom—"

She gave an understanding look before nodding. "Yeah, you are right, but next time I won't let you go easily." She joked, which made me laugh.

Turning my attention to Kyle and Edward, I asked, "So what do you want us to do before I leave?"

Kyle rubbed his fingers on his chin. "I don't know. Edward, what do you want to do?" he asked.

"I want her to play with me and teach me math." Aww, how cute!

"Now, now, Eddy, she is not only here for you; it's for us all." Edward pouted, which made him look even cuter.

"Let's just watch *Frozen*, your favorite cartoon, with Stacy," Alexa suggested. Wait, I thought *Frozen* was a horror movie, or was there an animation of the movie? That still wouldn't justify a little boy like Edward watching it, but I wouldn't jump to conclusions. Maybe I should watch it first.

"Yes!" Edward turned to me. "Aunt, you will watch it, right?" How could I say no to this cute little boy? Though I'd rather watch the movie, Edward was too young to watch it, and I didn't want him to have bad dreams because of me. Smiling at him, I replied, "Yes, sure, anything you want." I ruffled his hair.

"Can't we watch another cartoon or movie? This has to be the hundredth time we are seeing *Frozen*," Kyle complained.

"Stop being whiny like a kid. Besides, I'm pretty sure Stacy hasn't seen it before."

They all turned their attention to me.

"Is that true?" Kyle asked, looking directly into my eyes like he was looking into my soul.

"Well, I have seen a movie but never knew there was an animation," I replied.

Kyle, Alexa, and Edward looked confused, like I said something that wasn't right, and there was an awkward silence.

"Wait, there is a movie?" Kyle decided to break the silence.

"Yes," I replied.

"Is it true, Aunt, that *Frozen* has a movie?" Edward asked with excitement.

"Dad, I want to see it," he said, turning to his father.

"What kind of movie is that, Stacy?" Alexa asked.

"Well, it's a horror movie I watched a while back," I told her.

"Horror!" Alexa and Kyle shouted at the same time. Gosh, they were loud. Besides, I didn't say anything wrong, or did I? I decided to ask, "Did I say anything wrong?"

Edward just looked confused as to why they both screamed.

"Well, first off, I have never heard of a *Frozen* movie, and that too a horror," Alexa still looked surprised.

"Well, there is. You can check it out yourselves," I told them both.

"I think all of you should stop arguing about the *Frozen* movie and let's watch the cartoon so Aunt would know what the cartoon is like." Wow, Edward never fails to surprise me with his smartness.

We all stopped arguing and listened to the little smart boy. Kyle turned on the TV and put on the so-called animated *Frozen*. I'm sure I have never heard of an animated *Frozen* before, so knowing there is an animated version was surprising.

"You know, I always wonder where Edward got his smartness from," I stated.

"Obviously me," Kyle boasted, which made Alexa burst out laughing.

"Are you being serious?" Alexa joked, which made me also laugh, making Kyle glare at us both.

"Shhhhh," Edward placed his fingers on his lips to shush us before pouting. He's so cute.

"*Frozen* has already started, so let's pay attention and watch," he added, which made Kyle roll his eyes. I wonder why—maybe he's jealous his son is smarter.

So far, so good. This *Frozen* cartoon was completely not what I expected. I thought it would be a horror animation, but it's a fantasy story. I've got to admit, it's pretty good and funny, especially when a snowman—I think his name was Olaf—was craving summer. How pathetic.

Oh my, it almost made me tear up. I can't believe Hans would do something so despicable even though they met the same day. I thought they were made for each other. Guess I was wrong. Kristoff was the one for Anna, and Elsa—I really feel bad for her.

We finally watched *Frozen* finish, and I must say it was the best animated movie I have ever watched, being that it's the only animated movie I've watched.

"So, Aunt, how do you find *Frozen*?" Edward surprised me by asking, which caught the attention of the other two in the room.
